Pink Floyd reunion?

2008-05-28 by Ibanezium | 19 Comments
Most have probably seen a more permanent recovery of Pink Floyd as fairly unlikely due to the bad relations between particularly bass-player Roger Waters and the other members, especially guitarist David Gilmour, but now there may come an opening.

David Gilmour gave a hint the other day: an interview with the BBC in connection with the distribution of songwritersaward - Ivor Novello Award, and here he was - as so often before - asked about a possible reunification of Pink Floyd. And Gilmour, which has previously been categorically opposed to such questions, replied as follows, according gigwise.ocom:

"We have not said absolutely no to the opportunity. We made it that one time (the four numbers at the Live8 concert in London in 2005, Ed.), And it was proved enough for me, but let us see."

As mentioned, Pink Floyd reunited for four numbers at the major Live8 concert in London in 2005, but at the time did members keen to underline that the concert was an isolated event.

Rumorers (is that a word?) was again quickly, as the group's prime mover in the early years, Syd Barrett, died in 2006, and there was guessing a possible memorial concert, however, was never to anything.

Now working on rumors again. And there is certainly no doubt that a tour with Pink Floyd will be a very lucrative business for the band and concert.

First news, and I'm sorry for my bad english.

I would definately sell one of my testicle's for a ticket.

It will never happen though, they have enough money to last them a dozen lifetimes.

I would shit my pants if they reunited and for some reason they came to Quebec this summer.
I won't get my hopes up though.

I'd like to see the price on those tickets.

It doesn't matter though. I'd give every penny I have to witness something like that.

mason and wright would do it, i believe waters would as well, i think gilmour is the one standing in the way.

they woudnt be doing it for the money, i think, as has shown with their albums, they have got better as they aged, and consequently, i would only want a tour with a new album, otherwise its a bit pointless.

I don't think a new album would be worth much, I'm pretty sure it would actually hurt the band's status badly. Their best albums happened when Roger and David both tried to outdo the other, and I don't think that kind of rivalry would be nearly as strong as back in the 70s.
I'd be as happy as I could be if they just played their old material life. However, even if they did, I don't see much of a chance to ever get to a concert
