Very impressive! I like how they have a consistent quality running through their album covers.

Eerie...usually I find that Opeth album covers very accurately set the mood for what the album is mostly going to be like. That being said, I'm veeeery interested to hear what this album is going to be like based on that cover...a very strange atmosphere indeed.

The buzz (from what I've gathered, from this site, others, and a couple of interviews I've seen/read with Mikael) is that the sound on Watershed is something of a combination of My Arms, Your Hearse and Ghost Reveries.
Sounds like a win to me.

Damn I was just thinking the same EXACT thing with Resident Evil. As far as the cover it looks ok.. And I thought the Deliverance cover was great, looked like a torture chamber that matched the album well.

i dont think this will be a combo of my arms you hearse and ghost reveries. judging from some of the new material from live vids etc i would say its much heavier (at points heavier than deliverance) but with some insanely soft parts to it. IMO i think its gonna be a mix between BWP and Deliverance but with some new innovations Opeth somehow continuously conjures up even after 18 years.

im looking to get into these guys just to see what all the hullabaloo is about. where should i start?

The clip of "Heir Apparent" from the Melloboat is out and the feedback’s been pretty amazing. It’s a rough version of course, first time we played it live, but nevertheless most of you guys seem to like it. It makes me very happy!

I basically just approved the final artwork for the regular edition of "Watershed". It looks stunning (to me) and the special edition (that comes out the same day) will look even more stunning. There’s so many hidden things, symbolism etc in there that it’s quite mind boggling! Overall, a beautiful package, Travis Smith, once again...what a dude!

Anyways, nothing special to report I guess. We’re going on a press trip very soon where we’re gonna spend our days talking about....us! How very f***ing interesting! On top of that we’re starting to prepare for the upcoming tours. There’s been several headlining gigs confirmed. They can be found at opeth.com and at our myspace page. Oh, do come see us then will ya?

We’re working on a nice setlist. Per suggested 2 older songs that he wanted to play. Lo and behold, both of them we’ve never played before ever, so it’s going to be interesting to see what they’ll sound like. 2 very evil sounding songs....

I really like this. Hopefully this album will be better than their last 3, which were pretty bad by their (awesome) standards.

except Damnation is incredible.

Art is good, pretty much more of the same except it isn't nearly as cheesy as Ghost Reveries's.

Alot of Opeth fans yesterday had to replace their monitors/ keyboards because of the jizzfest over the new album cover. Wonder whats going to happen when the first track is leaked? Digital jizz spamming everyones computers?

Nice cover art but this band has to be one of the most overrated bands. I'm not a huge fan or anything (as u can tell) but i do dig their stuff.

Pshh Opeth is never overated, you better bow down to them before you sleep mister!

btw, So can't wait for this, im going to buy the delux verison if I can.

Similar cover art to Ghost Reveries, but its still awesome. This album is going to kick ass, just like every other Opeth album.
