Story of the Year Album release

2007-11-06 by z67 | 29 Comments
For anyone who hasen't been to the SOTY webpage recently they have switched labels. they are now part of the Epitaph records label. They are back working with John Feldman, the producer of the band's 1st studio album Page Avenue. They are also working with Elvis Baskette (Incubus / Make Yourself and Stone Temple Pilots / CORE) in virginia recording tracks. Their new album (still un-named) is now scheduled to drop in the spring of 2008. They are expected to start touring shortly after the album release.

i listened to the first one non stop when it came out. i wasnt a big fan of the second cd though. the songs sounded too much alike and it got boring. from what i hear their third cd is going to be more of the same.

Both albums are horrible.
I have a preppy older sister, I have heard every mainstream pop-punk album ever made.

I honestly that In The Wake of Determination showed improvement from the debut. Still no more than a slightly above average record but I'll give some tracks a spin once in awhile. In a weird way I'm looking forward to their new release and tour. I hear they put on a killer live show.

First cd was good, second sucked alot.
For me it was the exact opposite. I'm looking forward to what they may do now that they probably don't have any label directions.

The second album was all a bit too samey. Page Avenue had multiple standout tracks, alot more than their last.

Thanx for the comments, good and bad. For those of you that took the time to sit here and bash SOTY when you didn't even have to read the article in the first place I have this to say. Get a life. If you have time to go around and bad mouth all the bands you don't like while supporting the ones that you do, then you have way too much freakin time on your hands.

Thanx again for the feedback This Message Edited On 11.07.07This Message Edited On 11.07.07

Is it a crime to have free time?

Do I detect a hint of jealousy?

^No, I think he was just suggesting that people who do that should make better use of their time by not commenting on topics they don't care about or if they dont have anything constructive to say.

it is not jealousy u detect, it is pity. And there is nothing wrong with having free time, just the fact that you spend it bad mouthing an article that you didn't have to read seems a little sad to me is all.

And thank you AmericnZero02, that is wat i was trying to say.

I've listened to the first album, and it was alright. I've only heard a few songs off of their second, and I liked those a lot. I'm interested in hearing this album, seeing as the band somehow found their way to Epitaph records.
