Milwaukee rapper Funny $Money has died at the age of 33 after being fatally shot inside a recording studio on August 17.
Police responded to the building near North 31st Street and Cameron Avenue at approximately 3:40 p.m. Funny $Money and fellow rapper Lil Sheisty, aged 21, were pronounced dead at the scene.
A 28-year-old suspect was subsequently arrested. The circumstances surrounding the double shooting remain under investigation, with potential charges referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.
Funny $Money was an important figure in Milwaukee's recent hip-hop resurgence, becoming known for his punchline-heavy delivery, prominent R&B samples and lively regional production. His numerous collaborations connected him with artists including Sme Taxfree, Chicken P and Superthrowed Fay Fay.
His notable releases included the 2022 mixtape Don't Talk 2 Much, featuring "Rocky Balboa," and 2024's I Got the Hook Up Vol. 1: Big Bucks No Whammies, He remained highly prolific during the years that followed, releasing his latest project, Paid But Not Full, Vol. 1, in 2026.
