BMTH to re-record debut

2026-04-13 by Nat S. | 49 Comments
Bring Me The Horizon have announced a re-recording of their 2006 debut, Count Your Blessings, to mark the album's 20th anniversary.

Titled Count Your Blessings: Repented, the record is due for release on July 10 and will see BMTH head back to their deathcore roots, which they were quick to move on from after the original album's release. The band has described the re-recording as a "reactivation" and "recontextualization" of Count Your Blessings, rather than a straight retrospective look at it.

To promote the record, BMTH will be performing it in full in Manchester, UK, on release day as part of Outbreak Festival. Pre-orders of Count Your Blessings: Repented will include access to pre-sale tickets for the gig, which will feature support from Static Dress and Dying Wish.

To pre-order, head to https://shop.bmthofficial.com/.

this tells me absolutely nothing. is it a pretentious band rerecording their stuff?

“100£ a ticket for that one off show is INSANITY”

People complaining about the price are buck ass wild. It’s worth it just for Static Dress and Rolo Tomassi alone.

Outbreak in general always looks so fucking tight, we literally just don’t get festivals like that in the most greatest and most freest nation on earth™️

BMTH and sheeptoken here in aus was a $200 show. Also re recordings are fine if theres a proper reason for it like Paradise Lost and Icon. This feels like them trying to win back the heavy crowd or re write their past: which both are just bleh

Yeh 100 bob for that line up is more than reasonable in the current context of UK gig prices, Bring me on their tod will probably be the best part of 70 bob nowadays.

I'm gonna try and get tickets but I think it's gonna be super tough, I had no chance for the 2024 arena run it was an insta sell out on a 10 date arena run yet this is just one arena playing the classic shit.

Be cool if they actually pull this off and end up dropping their best album since Sempiternal.

We'll see.

Could be good if they try to do something completely different with it instead of making a shiny carbon copy with better-sounding production. Maybe hire someone else to re-write some of the lyrics too— because that has never been their strong suit, even as they've gotten older.

[2], that'd be the best course of action.

Guess Oli's shrieks should be okay but the growls have sucked for years. So it's either that
a) he's practicing real hard and will deliver
b) he can't handle it and won't deliver
c) they'll change the composition thoroughly

"reactivation" and "recontextualization" makes me think they are frankensteining all the songs to sound like 2020s bmth... lots of clean vox, simplified riffs, slower tempos etc

Either reinterpretation to make the tracks more mild, or they might just get some guests in to cover the deathier vocals if Oli can't deliver.

also i think the shitty production is totally part of the appeal of any myspace deathcore album... like nobody wants to hear these songs quantized to death like bmth's newer stuff lmao

"Can Oli's voice even handle screaming anymore?"

Credit where it's due, from what I've seen in all recent footage he's taken his vocal health and performance pretty seriously for awhile. He's never going to be amazing or anything but I think he's plenty capable of delivering a solid performance with healthy technique. It will be interesting to hear him go all-in for an entire album.

I mean if they can pull it off ill be impressed but i highly doubt this will be any good. Nor reawken my teenage love for this band, as its a band ive grown to despise as ive gotten older
