VOLA gear destroyed in fire

2025-12-25 by Voivod STAFF | 9 Comments
In the aftermath of a warehouse fire at the outskirts of Copenhagen that destroyed its equipment for recording sessions and live events, Danish experimental metal outfit VOLA has found itself in an uphill battle to replace and rebuild what was lost.

To that end, a gofundme campaign was launched (see url below), whereby the details of the devastation are laid down:

Amazing band actually, even the last album grew on me massively in the last few months, also maybe I'm the only one, but I really like Anders Friden feature on 'Cannibal.'

It's good that a well-known but not superstar band gets quick support when they really need it.

Great band, glad they should recoup most of their financial losses but losing gear you have used for years sucks

Nearly 200k worth of gear lost. Glad to see that they'll recoup their losses, but damn if that doesn't suck having to rebuild your gear from scratch.

You'd think musicians, who earn money by playing live music, would have their stuff properly insured..

^^What makes you think VOLA hadn't searched for an insurer beforehand?

My guess is that they did, but the required fees for insuring custom/expensive equipment, were deemed exorbitant and covered only a fraction of the equipment's real value.

"maybe I'm the only one, but I really like Anders Friden feature on 'Cannibal.'"

You're not - I listened to that single pretty much on a continuous loop until the rest of the album dropped lol.

This blows, I hope they're able to get shit sorted out reasonably quick. I love VOLA.
