Bunch of goobers ❤️

Yikes
| |
Band is definitely not from NJ lol
| |
Taking Back Sunday is from Long Island
| |
^ i thought this was the case. I always remember this because of the connection with Brand New and them being from Long Island as well
| |
Kind of bummed it is only a stand alone single and no news about a new album. That said the song is good. Will probably listen to this one a lot the upcoming week lol
| |
far from being the one
| |
check killdozer
| |
not bad.
| |
The post, literally starts with "Long Island." Lol...
But my lord, they fell off awfully hard over the years. Track is incredibly uninspired.
| |
I changed it, my bad. I got them mixed up with another band. In my defense it's been a while since I've had to think of them.
| |
Good for them for still making music this many years later but I don't like this at all. I listened to the song twice and I already don't remember anything about it.
| |
sounds like a The Killers song
| |
They are a far way from the people that made cute without the e or makedamnsure. If they can keep making good music and find an audience that accepts them as that then good for them.
| |
Not bad fr, hate the drums in the chorus tho
| |
That was generic as fuck, just like everything they've done since New Again.
| |
Boring. Bring back Straylight Run instead of this crap
| |
band's been irredeemably shite after new again
| |
where you want to be to new again was an incredible run though
| |
yes that I agree with
| |
Recently spun New Again for the first time in awhile and man, that album is straight up bangers. Forgot how good it really is.
| |
open the gate to your apartment complex
| |
I never got into New Again. IT was the start of the turning point for this band.
| |
You’re not getting off that easily
| |
Your all high.... "Happiness is" and "Tidal wave" are the grown up versions of "Tell all your friends" and "Where you want to be".
People that think they fell off after "New Again" need to go and listen their two last albums.
| |
Glad to see people realize New Again was amazing. Easily their best to me
| |
tidal wave is literally dad pxhc
absolutely cringe
| |
New Again is kinda butt ngl what do people like about it? Tidal Wave is ok, but idk if I'd want more of it. Definitely don't want them to try to recreate their early sound tho.
| |
i have still not jammed this song but tidal wave and happiness is are their best albums ez
| |
If this band broke up after Louder Now they could do a reunion tour right now and it would be absolutely massive
| |
Conc - it’s been a long time since I’ve spun it to be able to call out tons of specifics but what I remember mostly is:
It’s super catchy throughout. It has some really great guitar work. Everything must go is one of their best closers.
Fazzi added A LOT to that record In my opinion
| |
“tidal wave and happiness is are their best albums ez”
Lmfao holy shit take Batman 😂 bubs wth
| |
lmao nah they have way more personality and character than their older albums. i like everything this band has done except the s/t tho
| |
I dug some of Happiness is but I thought Tidal was pretty stale. Haven’t listened again since it dropped. S/t is mega 💩
| |
I have no idea how anyone likes this band's newer albums. It is like the most stale and generic guitars/drums ever, the songs lose all sense of melody, and Adam's vocals devolving into this strange, folk/70s, trembly mess is just really confusing.
I actually think he sounds better on this song than he has since New Again, at least.
| |
Adams vocals (especially live) are the worst thing about this band post-New Again. They've made some good songs since then but as a whole they've kind of hurt their legacy for me by making non-stop adult contemporary pop rock for soccer moms. Does John really even do anything in this band either? Feels like he hardly sings, his voice is kind of shit too, and none of his guitarwork is interesting.
| |
i truly will never get the claims that this band turned into a radio rock band for moms when a. they already played fucking pop punk and b. the new stuff if anything has more grit, also adam has always been a "bad" singer
| |
Yeah but he wasn't doing that weird southern twangy thing and he can't hit any high notes when he sings live. His voice worked great on their first 4 albums for the type of material they wrote. Shit songs like Faith sound like they're trying to cater to the modern day Coldplay crowd where they want everyone to wave lighters/cell phone lights around to crappy "inspirational" songs.
It'd help if they could write great hooks like they used to. My favorite TBS songs aren't really all that pop punk either so it's not like I want them to return to that sound specifically. I think Beat Up Car, Better Homes and Gardens (verses are meh), and Best Places to Be a Mom are good examples of them being able to write great songs with a more mature sound than TAYF.
Need less songs like Flicker, Fade and that "working down in the shipping docks with the boys" sounding tune Tidal Wave and more like A Decade Under the Influence, Winter Passing, Miami, and Everything Must Go. They peaked with Fred (and Matt) anyway and I don't ever see them being that good again without all the vocal intertwining.

Bubs soccer mom confirmed
| |
you may have a point as it is true that my 4th most listened to band this whole year is u2
| |
🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
| |
But are you like, a milf soccer mom? 😏
I listen to the Beatles constantly so 🤷🏼♂️
| |
“Adam was always a bad vocalist”
Except on the first 3 albums, where he totally ruled
| |
He had some great moments after but not at the consistency. I also was one of the rare people who loved and still love El Paso. Top 10 Taking Back Sunday song for me.
| |
I'll take el paso over anything on tidal wave or happiness any day of the week
| |
Yeah El Paso and Faith led you to think s/t was gonna be a pretty good album, it isn't. The only other song worth a shit was This is All Now, the rest are just so boring.
| |
faith is awful lol. i like maybe half of self titled but its got like three demos on the bonus disc that all smoke the entire main album
| |
Really? Thank you bubs i didnt know about them
| |
El Paso and Best Places To Be A Mom are awesome tracks.
I also enjoy This Is All Now and You Got Me despite it being a super simple song
| |
@storm yea peep mackey sasser, morning sickness and you were right when you get the chance. huge tunes
| |
This sounds like the Killers tried to make Christian contemporary music lol.
The new one actually I kinda enjoy. Music is still bland but it’s upbeat and vox are great
