Thoughts:
1. Both new singles suck and are generic
2. Man, The ArchAndroid, and The Electric Lady are so good though, what happened?
3. I love how the video for "Lipstick Lover" is so sexual that it got age restricted. For anyone wondering, it's super gay! Which is awesome, right in time for Pride Month
4. I'm on the fence about even hearing this. I'm afraid it'll be a 1/5 based on the singles

^ Yeah, there seems to be a distinct lack of ambition in her more recent output. Sucks, because I love the prog-soul stylings of her first few records, and the way she could balance pop sensibilities with genre-bending artistry

Music video is trying to come off as way too provocative for the actual music to be this dull. I don't get the target audience for this. There's a real gap between her thighs and the musical relevance of this.

Hopefully better than her last album, was quite disappointed with that

Yeah only track from Dirty Computer I still kinda care about is Screwed, and even then it's just because it's so damn catchy

If this ends up being a missed opportunity to shine light on an important topic, it will be worth double the frustration.

Compared to anything on ArchAndroid and The Electric Lady, this is fucking tragic, the most generic and radio safe pop/RnB imaginable. I fully get Janelle not wanting to get stuck in the Cindi Mayweather persona and be more open, sexy, raunchy, personal, but it seems to me that she also threw out any musical ambition she had in the past. So disappointing and frustrating.
