I am instantly excited for this. White Bat is a classic in my opinion.

Oh. This is sick already! Nice.
|
| |
I hope Shuylar is feeling better, he had huge health issues!
|
| |
Really? Goddamn, here’s hoping he’s doing well!
|
| |
Two dirty songs right off the bat, I love it
|
| |
Thanks for the info! What a messy situation.
|
| |
Fuck yes!
|
| |
Couple of absolute barn burners right there
|
| |
Damn son, band never misses!
Hyped for this.
|
| |
God fucking damn this bangs!
|
| |
Both songs are great as predicted. I love how heavy they are.
|

He Is Hype Train

WE NEED I Am Hollywood II

“Couple of absolute barn burners right there”
You not kidding. These are both absolutely filthy. Unexpected aoty contender already
|
| |
Hell yeah!
|
| |
Holy shit these songs are sick.
|
| |
Does anybody have any clues as to where the album title came from? They mentioned on social media that the album would be 2 words and 4 syllables long (which it is), but also said that it was a reference to a previous work of theirs? I can't make the connection!
Songs absolute SLAM though so it's rather unimportant. The album could have been called shitty titty and these would still bang.
|
| |
To me, I’m reminded of House of Leaves.
|
| |
Shadynasty - It's a lyric from their song "Eastern Locust"
I choose to live in an endless hallway
I choose the sea of regret
I may be doomed, but you'll be sorry
You haven't seen me yet
Speaking of which, I think it's an absolute shame that that song is split from "Call-Ins." If they were together, it'd be a top five song in their catalogue, hands down.

Double post
|
| |
Masochist! I’ve been seeing you on this site since I started lurking 14 years ago, holy shit! How are you?
|
| |
Masochist - thank you, my friend! I have to admit that Heavy Fruit and Few were two albums that I never really sank my teeth into so I definitely missed that connection. I'll have to go back and see the missed combo song that you mentioned!
|
| |
Shadynasty - I may be biased here seeing as these guys are my favorite band, but definitely check both those albums out. That being said, I do think Heavy Fruit is their weakest to date, even though it has some of my favorite tracks (I Sleep Just Fine, Time to Stain)
Masochist - I agree, if they were one song together it would easily be top 5, though the two song combo still ain't bad lol. You can't listen to one without the other, that's for sure.
|
| |
these are cool. not blowing me away outside of the instrumental but that is admittedly tighter than usual. cool hearing the guitarists j go off
|
| |
Since even before! “Either they decorated…” is tight!
|
| |
Masochist - I will considered Call Ins/Eastern Locust was like Suicide Note from Pantera. Split because they are different feels, but still count them as one song.
|
| |
He is Legdjent
|
| |
MoM - Been all right! Old man now, lol. Just lurking, pop out every so often when there's news of some of my favorite bands (see thread). How have you been?
|
| |
As for these songs...I love the sound, love the energy, but as a long time listener of the band, I hear many of their other songs in each part of these. And I was able predict when the melodic part will come in, and roughly how it would sound. While I love the songs, I also feel that the album may be White-Bat-but-faster. That may not be a bad thing in the end.
|
| |
yeah thats whats holding me back with these. the melodies are pretty standard
|
| |
Good to hear! Been doing fantastically myself, thanks for asking! You know your He Is Legend, so you may very well be right!
|
| |
well i'm glad i havent been listening to a ton of he is legend cuz these songs are FIRE!
|
| |
dont let that dissuade you from jamming more he is legend tho! their first 3 in particular are very sick, altho theyre all pretty different from each other/how they sound now
these are growing on me tho. interested in what a full album of chuggy hil will sound like
|
| |
wtf I haven't heard this band in years, I absolutely do not recall them being anywhere near this heavy
|
| |
check That's Nasty
|
| |
Fuckyea
|
| |
Will check it out and head down that journey
|
| |
Yes please
|
| |
@Syco - yeah they are not typically this heavy
|
| |
Lifeless Lemonade goes so hard
|
| |
These songs are awesome
|
| |
Love these.
|
| |
the most emphatic yes i can muster
|
| |
These two songs have grown on me a lot since I first heard them. I thought they were pretty good, but they didn't really grab me. But like most of their material, these grow on you the more you listen. Schyular has such an interesting way of crafting hooks. Also love how heavy they are w/o necessarily retreated back into post-hx territory.
|
| |
One of the few bands I can legitimately put on any album and enjoy it front to back.
|
| |
Very true
|
| |
dbizzles - 100% yes! The thing is, they settled into their sound after Suck Out The Poison. It Hates You established where they wanted to be, then they took a break after that. Their next couple of albums built off of the IHY sound, and then White Bat is probably the best culmination of that sound.
All of their albums are absolutely worth checking out, they all have bangers and unskippable tracks (my current favorite HIL song is "Beaufort" off of 'Few'). But if you want to start exploring, I'd say start either with IHY or White Bat.
Emim - Same! There are very few bands in this world I listen to more than He Is Legend. Maybe actually only one or two.
|
| |
Just came across Lifeless Lemonade and holy shit when did HIL get this heavy? Song has tons of groove.
|
| |
4/4 singles have been superb, this might just come and throw my current AOTY list into chaos.
|
| |
Leave now.
|
| |
lol
|
| |
yea i mean i love poison now but i was definitely hit hard with tonal whiplash jamming that and it hates you (arguably their true peak) after getting really into i am hollywood. can be jarring for sure esp regarding the vocals, but now i dig that they changed shit up so much
