Damn this is like
Probably the best Chat Pile I've heard thus far
Riffs chug more than BadlandChugs inhaling the ocean.
Also vox are frighteningly manic. I definitely think this still channels some of that Daughters-esque energy but with a distinctly crunchier sense of Doom/Sludge Metal imo.

I really only hear the daughters mannerisms with the vocals, other than that this is nothing like daughters imo

Yeah I suppose you're right. Definitely gives that livid drunken preacher vibe with the vocals but the guitar work feels overall grimier/distinctly more heavy

“There’s a sick irony to how a country that extols rhetoric of individual freedom, in the same gasp, has no problem commodifying human life as if it were meat to feed the insatiable hunger of capitalism. If this is American nihilism taken to its absolute zenith, then God’s Country, the first full length record from Oklahoma City noise rock quartet Chat Pile is the aural embodiment of such a concept.”

oh fuck yeah

Love everything this band has released so far. Can't get enough of this guy's vox, and the sound is just so grimy and raw. Hits all the right buttons for me. And who else is talking about the decay and nihilism of post industrial mid America while giving a spotlight to alcohol and fast food joints. They really walk a graceful line between hilarious, depressing and really fuckin angry.

New track has more refined production than the rest, and it really sounds perfect to my ears. Not overly produced, still feels raw, but the instruments definitely feel more powerful now. That percussion hits so damn hard especially. Beyond hyped for album.

If you’ve never heard anything like Daughters, this is basically identical. On the other hand, if your whole world is noise rock, then this sounds nothing like Daughters. I don’t know what my point is but people on both sides of that comment just sound dumb.

No I actually agree with you because I got into Chat Pile shortly after I got into Daughters, and now that Daughters is gone, Chat Pile has take. their spot (in my library at least).

For sure dude. The vocals just reminded me of Shithead, but the music itself is much different. Crustier, in a good way
