A Feast for Lampreys single, LP 2022-04-26 by Sevengill | 5 Comments | Blackened sludge metal band A Feast for Lampreys premieres "Secrets and Slime Eels", the lead single from its debut LP Graveyard Abyss, today. The outfit plays an abrasive mix of several genres inspired by environmental themes and oceanic horror, as elaborated upon in the album's description:
"From the primordial ooze rises the debut album of Boston’s A Feast for Lampreys – a briny musical carcass fed upon by black metal, death metal, sludge, and blues. This nightmarish concoction from songwriter Nymphon tells the story of a dying planet through the eyes of its last desperate aquatic inhabitants, framed by the agony of personal loss.
Five years in the making, Graveyard Abyss defies convention and categorization with its selachian musical lens. Journey through sludgy canyons where corroded guitars battle drowned church organs for melodic supremacy, and feral rasps prey upon ghostly voices in the grave of the sea."
