After a few listens I'm really loving it, it's very Arc. They've just being continually doing their own thing and making great music this whole time.

Dewinged, I don't have strong opinions about Re-Animator as an album (it was okay...not nearly as good as their earlier albums), yet "In Birdsong" was a beautiful song. I just want to stand up for that one song since you said "better than anything in the last album." Man, that song hits right. I can't believe I'm quoting a YouTube comment, yet someone on there said, "This is like 'No Reptiles' written during Arc era with Man Alive fox in it." Yes, yes it is.

Ok Foo, since you put some actual effort on that comment I am gonna go back and check that song, cause I honestly don't remember it. Will report back!

Ok, I checked "In Birdsong" and I still think this is better. Like I prefer this band when they do this uplifting, over the top stuff. One of my favorite EE songs is "Night of the Long Knives", and this last track has that vibe.
