it would be insane to release a b-sides collection after releasing medium rarities last year and talking about releasing an album in the fall earlier in the year lol

Are you guys seriously hyped for a new Mastodon album after The Hunter and Once More Round The Sun?

I was so excited for Once More Round The Sun after not enjoying The Hunter only to be thoroughly disappointed.

I don't like the Hunter but OMATC was my first Mastodon album and even though i don't revisit it often i still think its pretty okay

I’d this is true, color me curious. OMATS was my first Mastodon as well, and I thought Emperor of Sand was a grower. If it is a new album, I hope they go back to their pre-OMATS sound/style, because while both OMATS and EoS are solid rock albums, they kinda lack that energy and freshness their previous albums brought.

Well not actually 'lolbad', just wholly underwhelming. CDP was certainly decent and I enjoyed it more than anything since CtS.
Here's to hoping they continue on this upward trajectory.

I cannot say I'm not hyped with a double album called Hushed and Grim...not expecting a "songy songy" thing.

Super unpopular opinion, but I prefer their newer stuff to their older stuff. The pop influence just took their music to a new level for me, and Once More is my favorite album of theirs. So yes, I'm excited.
