Love and Death return 2020-11-14 by DatsNotDaMetulz | 7 Comments | After 4 years of silence, Korn guitarist Brian "Head" Welch's solo project Love and Death have returned with a new single ahead of a new album to be released next year.
The single, "Down", is the third track on upcoming sophomore effort Perfectly Preserved, to be released via extreme metal label Earache Records on February 12th and is accompanied by a lyric video which can be seen below.
Along with the release, the band have announced their new lineup, with longtime collaborator Jasen Rauch (also of Breaking Benjamin) joining on bass and Phinehas drummer Isaiah Perez playing drums after the departures of Michael Valentine and Dan Johnson during the group's hiatus. Guests including ex-Flyleaf vocalist Lacey Sturm and Underoath frontman Spencer Chamberlain are also anticipated.

Guitar tone reminds me of early Red, which probably has to do with Rauch being involved. Sounds like I expected it too, will probably check when the full record drops. Bridge is cool.

Pretty great song, and from what I've heard it's the mainstream radio song of the record, so I have my hopes still high for some heavy hitters on this thing. Very intrigued to hear the DJ Snake cover and how they manage to pull that off (hopefully just as well as they did Whip It)

| | | I'd rather hear this guitar work in Korn and I'd rather hear more harsh vocals from Head in Korn as well. Love and Death is alright but pretty much by the numbers nu-metal
