Sweet. If this is anything like the t/t was for TSATS, I'm expecting another great variety of tracks.
|
| |
Skip to 1 minute for the song
|
| |
The music video actually started out interesting, but then completely derailed when the band had to do some acting...
|
| |
Can be better than The Sin and The Sentence imho, crossed fingers
|
| |
trivium by the numbers, am well and truly over this sound by now
|
| |
wow you know a band has hit rock bottom when even tundra is "over" them
bet this is gonna blow like everything theyve ever done then
|
| |
ascendancy was their last palatable album agreed
#shoguncrewcangofuckthemselves
|
| |
ascendancy was hot garbage
|
| |
the transition from verse to pre-chorus is some amateur shit tbh
|
| |
it wasn't as garbage as everything that followed
3/5 meh album
|
| |
LOL you think that's a 3/5? yikes
|
| |
compared to in waves and the sin, it's a goddamn masterpiece
|
| |
Calm your moobies, Park.
|
| |
ok zoomer
|
| |
never liked ascendancy tbh, and all of their albums have been overrated to some degree, there has always been a missing link in this band for me and am not sure what it is
|
| |
I dig Ascendancy, shit riffs hard
|
| |
Don't know about you guys, but I've come to appreciate Trivium recently (never was a fan), as a fun and technical band that seem to like what they do. And drummer iss very good, with the most ''ironic'' expression ever.
|
| |
Song is pretty great imo. My favorites from TSATS weren't the singles so it might be the same case here.
|
| |
Yup exactly.
|
| |
"ascendancy was their last palatable album agreed"
They've put out two better albums but okay. This single is decent. Still got some pretty high hopes for the album, since TSATS had Heart From Your Hate as a single and that was easily the worst track of the album
|
| |
or
hear me out here
just one thing i want to say
what if
this band was never good, at any point in its existence?
|
| |
They definitely have some trash albums, but
Hear me out here
I disagree
|
| |
Hear me out here
Shogun is trash
|
| |
nah
people who don't say Shogun is the best Trivium album weird me out tbh
|
| |
can you not be a dick park
|
| |
Shogun is best agreed. I can understand hating the vocals, but the instrumentation is awesome.
|
| |
ok :[
|
| |
park is correct
|
| |
Damn Tundra, I thought you liked these guys.
|
| |
pfff, always let them pass more like, but if they refuse to switch up their style I have no business listening anymore
|
| |
I mean they've always been switching up their style until recently, but yeah I agree this seems quite similar to TSATS.
|
| |
Why does matt have the same jaw line as matt stonie
|
| |
it's very similar to tsats but do you want another vengeance falls or silence in the snow?, they may be sticking to a formula but it was an incredibly successful formula that worked very well, kinda like dance gavin dance
|
| |
Oh yeah it's not a problem at all for me, I'm just understanding Tundra's viewpoint.
|
| |
Hip Hop Head's first time hearing 'Catastrophist': "Wow i've never heard something this br00tal in my life!"
|
| |
Cancerous channel
|
| |
Not sure about the song tbh
|
| |
Shogun was their best. Listening to The Sin now.
|
| |
lol Shogun is the best, by far. Ascendancy comes afterward. For some weird reason, Vengeance Falls was an album of absolute garbage but it featured some fucking great guitar playing in it.
|
| |
Sounds standard but promising. Gladly preordered the vinyl.
|
| |
"Hear me out here
Shogun is trash"
Pika you useless fuck...
|
| |
he's right but the band has always been some shadows fall tier garbage
|
| |
They have two good albums.
|
| |
shogun aint one
|
| |
Counterpoint: It is.
|
| |
*parry*
|
| |
Katy.
|
| |
now THERE'S a real musician
|
| |
She owns a company called Kitty Purry and I'm serious.
|
| |
i thought that was her cats name
|
| |
it was cute when they thought they were making serious music with Shogun. who tf did they think was gonna jam 8 minute Trivium songs
|
| |
Album slaps that's the truth.
|
| |
i'd slap a piece of dog shit with it so i guess ur right
|
| |
You're both my age (roughly) so I don't buy that neither of you were into Ascendancy.
|
| |
That's a bad argument though because yes i was into Ascendancy but i was also a small child and my taste was horrible, embarrassing, and shameful
|
| |
is that the Metallica cover album? definitely not
I fucked with the first album tho. I still bump some songs off it. Like Light to Flies still goes
|
| |
wait that's ascendancy, so yes
|
| |
Like Light To Flies was off Ascendancy key
|
| |
Ascendancy was the one you fucked with and it's the second album. The Crusade is the Metallica Lite one
|
| |
yea, always forget they have an album before that
Shogun was actually one of the first full albums I downloaded. it bored me to tears even back then
|
| |
Pull Harder on the Strings of Your Martyr is a fantastic song regardless of how old you are.
|
| |
PULL
HARDER
STRINGS
MARTYR
fuck bud just fucking say the whole sentence ffs
|
| |
that's another good one
what's that breaking benjamin ass song called again, I line that too
|
| |
Like Light To Flies floods me with childhood memories of playing Sims 2 all night long
|
| |
"fuck bud just fucking say the whole sentence ffs"
dude he was straining his vocal chords beyond repair lol, he had to cut corners
|
| |
Needed Corey to adlib "on the" and "of your" and help a brotha out.
|
| |
They need2d a mike shinoda type I guess
|
| |
Technically that would be Matt.
|
| |
Oh I get it because hes Asian
|
| |
Bad.
|
| |
Heres another mike shinoda type as we speak
|
| |
Possibly.
Could be a weeb false positive.
|
| |
Dying in Your Arms, that's what that breaking benjamin song was
|
| |
Metal dudes be like "we are hardcore" while naming shit "dying in your arms"
|
| |
dude the lyrics for that are so embarrassing lmao
|
| |
You know what's actually hardcore?
Killing someone with your arms
|
| |
YOU POISONED MY LIFEEEEE
SO I'LL TAKE THIS KNIFEEEEE
I'LL CUT YOU OUUUUT
I'LL CUT YOU OUUUUUUUUUT
|
| |
*solo*
|
| |
What are lyrics?
|
| |
Can just picture bud like, cutting his ex out of a picture while mascara tears and hair dye run into the sink
|
| |
This band has always been pretty average imo. The songs are listenable enough, but nothing really that special.
At the very least, it seems like they've managed to combine all of the various eras of the band into one sound.
|
| |
FUCK just release Shogun 2.0 so I can enjoy you again, Trivium!
|
| |
Yeah, can't say I'm enjoying this one. Didn't love TSATS either, and this seems to be more of the same. Shogun 2.0 would be the tits though.
|
| |
lmao their last album has a 3.9 here wtaf?
|
| |
PULL
HARDER
STRINGS
MARTYR
|
| |
Trivium haven't released a below-4 album since the mid-2000's
|
| |
bet i'd 1 all of them
|
| |
I dare you to listen to In Waves in full and then come back to me and say that deserves less than at least a 3.5.
|
| |
i would minus the fact that it would be literally impossible to sit through an entire trivium album without killing myself
|
| |
Just rated In Waves for you bb.
|
| |
id be happy to listen to 1 to 2 minutes of each track and then come back to you and say that it's a hard 1-soft 1.2 tho
|
| |
In Waves was a comfy 3 last time I checked, many years ago. Dusk Dismantled is peak Trivium though, wouldn't mind going that to that one sometime
|
| |
nice thanks ghost
|
| |
lmao wholesome
|
| |
That was for Caliggy you slut.
|
| |
jonny what would you say the chances would be that i would give In Waves a 3.5 after forcing myself to listening to it the whole way through, give me a percentage, you know me well
|
| |
0%
Album is horrible.
|
| |
That was for Johnny you slut.
|
| |
Come on Johnny
|
| |
P.s. if you lie to do me a bamboozlin' i'll 1 ur discog
|
| |
instrumental intro that sounds nothing like the rest of the album despite containing a motif from the t/t = +20%
meme value of title track = +5%
production is arguably better than older trivium albums = +15%
metal production = -95%
guitars = -20%
lyrics are softboi = +1%
outro is noisey and has no riffs = +7%
is better than some other trivium albums = +5%
trivium album = - 40%
overall probability = -102%
not bad as odds go
|
| |
"metal production = -95%
guitars = -20%"
LOL
|
| |
that was an excellent breakdown ty. that outro sounds ok
|
| |
"trivium album = - 40%"
I mean... yea
|
| |
negative a hundie and two percent chance caligs
|
| |
I do think you should jam the crusade for shits and gigs tbf
|
| |
dude i straight up OWNED the crusade on COMPACT DISC when i was a little FAILED ABORTn'
|
| |
lmao you scamp
think my copy is under 3m away from me rn, behind the doors of a literal closet. it has not seen daylight in years and i feel it's in its element that way
|
| |
literally user Spec has my copy
i sold him all like 300 of my CDs
|
| |
hopefully he's in a closet too
|
| |
I hope it's pulling its weight and working wonders for his collection lol. Did that come alongside Lead Sails and Scream Aim Fire or some shit?
|
| |
wtf bruh i might have made a mistake purchase or two but i wasn't a fucking MONSTER
|
| |
holy fuck i just stumbled upon the existence of a rapper named "Guapdad 4000" and i'm fucking crying thats the funniest name i've ever heard
|
| |
i'm sure he's shit but i'll probs give him a 5
|
| |
Nice. Basically a continuation of The Sin and the Sentence. I'm okay with this. Their new drummer is a nutcase on the kit, I love it.
|
| |
Sounds more or less in the same vein as The Sin and the Sentence, which was pretty damn good (their second best album IMO despite some weaknesses) but with heaps better production. Don't care about the lyrics as usual but songwriting is pretty good and performances are great. I like it, sounds promising.
|
| |
I'd say 3rd best behind Silence and Waves
|
| |
They've always been a mediocre band at best for me. New single is alright but not really interesting either. Their older albums always had like 1 or 2 songs that were interesting but the entire albums were just tedious.
|
| |
Park over here trolling hard and sounding stupid. This is definitely trivium by the numbers and it’s kinda sad. Have not really cared for anything since shogun and ascendancy was definitely the peak.
|
| |
Song is solid
|
| |
Sin and the Sentence is absolutely their peak. It combines the best parts of their two best below it - Shogun and Vengeance Falls. I dont expect this to top it but it'll at least be a 4/5 from me if its anything like this.
|
| |
That‘s an... interesting opinion
|
| |
who is that @
|
| |
Didn’t expect Vengeance Falls of all albums to be top 2 but okay
|
| |
Trivium, regardless of boomer opinion, is a great band with a high level of musicianship. Very palatable song IMHO.
|
| |
high level of musical tonality
|
| |
@doom: its the lyrical content that does it for me, that's also why In Waves is so high on my list
|
| |
my god that chorus is ass
|
| |
Saw the track list and times Matt posted, a lot of the songs are longer, there’s even a 13 minute song... gonna be an interesting album for sure.
|
| |
That track list looks juicy indeed. Maybe this won‘t be Sin and the Sentence pt 2 after all.
|
| |
Not a big fan but I always catch myself checking out their stuff.
I guess I’m a fan. And this isn’t bad at all.
|
| |
I miss these guys
|
| |
No thank you
|
| |
Sin and the Sentence was top notch
|
| |
"Saw the track list and times Matt posted, a lot of the songs are longer, there’s even a 13 minute song... gonna be an interesting album for sure."
There is no 13 minute song, all of them except the into are the usual 4-6 minute runtime, The Catastrophist is actually the longest song on the album.
|
| |
At this point the band has evolved into/established their own sound that I think is fine, but I'm not crazy for. I loved Ascendancy and Shogun so much, and even parts of Crusade/In Waves/Sin and Sentence.
I'm probably the only one thinking this, but it'd be cool if they tried an "Ascendancy Part 2" in terms of songwriting. Ascendancy was very simple with some impressive technical stuff that arguably helped put the band on the map (as well as their "Master of Puppets" cover). I'd be really okay with the idea of them making a new LP with that approach. "Ascendancy" remains a fun album to this day.
|
| |
Hate the new song as the chorus is cringe, but I really liked the last album, so will definitely check the new one. m/
|
| |
Pillars of serpents is still the best trivium song. Got it on my gym playlist
|
| |
Song is solid lmao, stop hating it just because its Trivium. Of course it'll be cringey and cliched, that's Trivium for you ladies and gents, their style is well established by now.
|
| |
Terrible song lol
|
| |
Idk why, but seeing everyone just chill on the couch here was funny to me.
Also, those of you saying Shogun was the best *clearly* never listened to Vengeance Falls
|
| |
Aye, VF 10/5
|
| |
