She was so young

RIP, awful

She's had it rough these last few years. An already brutal industry hasn't been kind to her. RIP, this one stings.

i've had a bad day and this is making me incredibly sad
|

Glad some of the shit in the K-Pop industry gets revealed, maybe things will change a bit. However, it's sad it has to happen through anxiety/depression issues, suicides, hidden cam/sex scandals, mobsters being caught, etc.

This has less to do with the industry and more to do with the absolutely insane people on the internet who bashed, ridiculed, and cyberbullied this woman for literally everything she did for almost a decade. Industry is definitely fucked up tho (but so is the Western pop industry).
|
| |
what did she do that elicited that response from the public? :c
|
| |
She didnt wear a bra at an outing with her friends at a restaurant and her Instagram followers pounced on her. Apparently this constant scrutizing is why she quit f(x) 4 years ago
While I think the industry is partially to blame for the way they treat their idols and the stresses put on them, I think this has more to do with everything shes been through accumlating into this tragedy. I think the online abuse was what broke her. Some fans take things too far and see idols as a product rather than human, with their own thoughts and feelings, which is why many kpop idols are not allowed romantic relationships while signed to a companies contract, their fans might get jealous or w/e. tho I think there has been improvements over them dating it isnt perfect.
She was seen two days before her death on Instagram crying her eyes out saying "I'm not a bad person" it really makes me wonder what horrible things they were saying to her. I think goblin was a warning sign, a melancholic otherworldly tone combined with lyrics that are somewhat cryptic and read like a suicide note. A look into the ugliness the internet brings out of humanity.
|
| |
agreed, goblin has a much darker significance now...
|
| |
keep enjoying kpop 👏

R.I.P. That scene is a can of worms that needs to be opened for the sake of the artists.
|
| |
I also didnt realize Sulli was friends with Jonghyun of shinee, he committed suicide in 2017. They say suicides tend to have a domino effect, especially when one is close to the other... she also has a younger brother, the more I learn the more depressing it gets.
|
| |
Yeah, KPop has some pretty obsessive fan bases and often they do more harm to the artists than supporting them.
|
| |
the fans doing the brunt of the harm or the industry itself to its artists? 🤔
|
| |
We seriously need better working conditions for k-pop idols: they didn't learn shit from Jonghyun's death as well as a multitude of other things and now they have even more blood on their hands. its fucking bullshit. sadly people are too goddamn blind and k-pop stans are stubborn retarded fucks and won't take a fucking stand to help the idols they supposedly care about.

R.I.P. That scene is a can of worms that needs to be opened for the sake of the artists. (2)

Wasn't it because of bullying within the K-pop industry? I could be wrong, I'd hate to spread mere rumors but that's what I have been hearing. Rest in peace beautiful soul. A victim of the K-pop industries toxic culture.
|
| |
K-pop fan culture is fucking disgusting.
|

Once urea in ppl worship you, then the second you’re not the new hotness your stock drops fast. Korean idols are playing a cold ass game. RIP
|
