Void of Vision cover Slipknot

2019-08-16 by DatsNotDaMetulz | 26 Comments
Nu-metalcore group Void of Vision have recruited Northlane's Marcus Bridge, Sean Harmanis of Make Them Suffer and Ryan Siew of Polaris, to release a cover of Slipknot's "Psychosocial", originally from 2008 album All Hope is Gone.

The cover was recorded as part of the March of the Maggots compilation curated by UK magazine Metal Hammer, and was released in last month's issue with Slipknot as the cover artist. Other artists to contribute cover tracks include Employed to Serve ("Purity"), Blood Youth ("(sic)"), Cursed Earth ("People = Shit") and Hacktivist ("Duality"), while underground acts influenced by the band make up the rest of the disc, including Jonestown, Borders and Terraborn presenting their own original songs.

Void of Vision are set to release their new album, Hyperdaze, on 13 September via UNFD.

Pretty unnecessary. And the chorus vocals are really weirdly mixed.

Literally the easiest Slipknot song to cover

I doubt this is worse than the monstrosity that is Hacktivist’s cover.

Yeah this isn’t bad, just not really any different aside from the weird vocals in the chorus.

That sounds like an uneccessary amount of vocalists to have for a cover song.

I can't be bothered to check out this cover, but I actually dig this band quite a bit. Love their vocals. The new songs from the upcoming album sound decent, a bit of a step down from the Disturbia EP though. That EP fucking banged hard.

Vocals are pretty bad, yeah. Why would they cover their worst single too?

Blood Youth's cover of (sic) is pretty tight. EtS's cover of Purity was a bit of a let down though, I was hoping they'd make it more chaotic like their normal stuff but they toed the line too much and it was a bad fit. They should've picked something from Iowa.

Blood Youth is actually a band that did the 'nu metal-core' pretty well, not surprised they are able to cover a Slipknot-song
