Big Thief Doubles Down in 2019 2019-08-13 by hamid95 | 9 Comments | Fresh off of their lauded album "U.F.O.F." and with a surprise 7-inch release in the bag this year, Big Thief surprises yet again with another album, titled "Two Hands".
Recorded directly after the sessions for their former release at Sonic Ranch, Texas, the album was conceived by the band as a twin sister, with "U.F.O.F: as the "celestial twin" and the latter as the "earth twin". Adrienne Lenker writes in a press statement: "Two Hands has the songs that I’m the most proud of; I can imagine myself singing them when I’m old. Musically and lyrically, you can’t break it down much further than this. It’s already bare-bones.”
Unlike the process behind "U.F.O.F." the album will consist almost exclusively of live recordings. This is signalled by the lead single "Not", showcased the past year on the band's live tour.
