Saw it live. Not too impressed. I'm curious to see if the studio version is better.
|
| |
Coheed is a studio band. I guarantee the studio is better.
|
| |
Can't wait.
|
| |
Wooohooo. This and the new Thrice album have me very excited
|
| |

holy shit these guys need to find something new to put in place of "WHOA OH WYOAH WHOA OH"
|
| |
Much, much better than I saw live. Very good recorded. Love the oh-ing. Drums could be better though.
|
| |
So far, freakin' sweet.
I'm glad it isn't as dark as some of the songs on Good Apollo, really can't wait for this now.
|
| |
The record is going to be much darker than Volume 1 according to the band. Take into account that this is the single.
|
| |
Good point.
Love the art for this song.
|
| |
Good song, cover art is sweet too.
|
| |
The song is ok, i agree with Cocaine on the whole Aaron Carter pop. I thought it was gone when they made #4!
|
| |
I like it. I like the woah oh parts. They do seem to overuse them at times. But oh well. The song rocks.
|
| |
I like it a whole lot. As for the whoa ohs, I love them just cause it shows their punk roots... Though Fat Mike may disagree.... But i'll say one thing, if The Running Free is to GA2 as The Suffering is to GA1, I am gonna crap my pants when I hear this album.
|
| |
Band is so bad. SSTB was worthwhile, the rest is subpar.
|
| |
Ugh, I don't get what people see in this band.
|
| |
Everything............. They see everything........
|
| |
Oh and coheed is most definetly not just a studio band. They are amazing live. They usually add or change parts to the songs live. Being in the mosh pit during In keeping secrets is a life changing experience. This Message Edited On 08.07.07

^^ Agreed

His voice caresses the ovaries i never had.
Can't say its always enjoyable though.
|
| |
I love everything this band have ever done, and I now love this song.
They can do no wrong in my eyes, its the perfect music for me.
And to those live comments, they are amazing live too, especially when i've seen them do acoustic sets, but i've always gone with the notion that a gig is only ever as good as the crowd, which is always good at Coheed gigs.
|
| |
OK song.
|
| |
The song isn't bad. I hope the drumming on the rest of the forthcoming album is a little more intricate, it would be nice to hear some less simplistic battery for once.
|
| |
That's the reason I had a bad feeling about Taylor recording the drums.
I have no problems with him as a drummer, but good Coheed songs require a bit more than a 4/4 drum beat as in most Foo Fighter songs.
I'm hoping Claudio and Travis directed him a bit.
|
| |
I kinda dislike woah-oh's, but I actually really like this song. My theory on the drumming is that they just want the drums to carry the beat, nothing more.
|
| |
ugh, I don't get what people see in this band.
Same here.
His voice caresses the ovaries i never had.
Can't say its always enjoyable though.
Seriously lawls.

The song is not bad.
They are amazing live
Have you ever seen DEP, Horse the Band, Thursday, Good Riddance, The Blood Brothers, The Smashing Pumpkins or somebody else who is actually good live?
|
| |
Oh god... DEP, Thursday, Blood Brothers. Godly live
DEP blew fire on my face.
|
| |
i relly liked the song. cant wait for the new album. does any1 know when the release date is?
|
| |
Against Me! is the best live band I've seen, although I have to give definite relatively newfound respect to the Locust, Ampere, and Daitro.
|
| |
I have seen a ton of really good live bands such as, A plea for purging, get your guns, the blood brothers, and dredg (some say they are boring live, but i loved it). Coheed is equally as good or better than them. No they dont move around that much, sometimes they will go crazy for a sec, but their music is just epic live.
Don't judge until you have been in the mosh pit during IKS. It is amazing. Claudio used to be a shitty singer live but now he sings pretty much all the songs perfectly. It is a matter of opinion and love for the music i guess though.
|
| |
Ampere was cool but their impact was sorta minimal.
I hate how everybody is always saying stuff like "DONT TALK UNTIL YOUVE GONE 2 A SHOW!!" Are there no bands left who are only mediocre live? Coheed I think is that. There is no on-stage movement, minimal charisma, only a few freak outs / jams and their touring bassist for a long time did a lame chicken head bob. The crowd isn't much better. Sorry dude.
|
| |
I liked how they play Woodward so fast that no one figured out what song it was until the more controlled verses.
|
| |
It's Woodlawn, cr00sh ampere fan.
The Blood Brothers are extremely mediocre live. So CTTS actually. Thursday, Thrice, mewithoutYou are all fantastic.
|
| |
I really liked the song. It was better than most of the songs off of IV imo. That video of Welcome Home rocks too
|
| |
This isn't bad but it certainly makes me realize just how good SSTB is.
|
| |
I thought the vocal melodies were kind of underwhelming, but then again it IS the single so.
I still can't wait to fap to the real thing.
|
| |
The band is aight and this new single is aight.
I still hate the lead singer...but who should I be criticizing...The Mars Volta & Smashing Pumpkins are some of my favorite bands.
|
| |
Haha tribestros, I know what you mean. They have actually started to sound less pre-pubesent over the years and albums and you really still can enjoy the instrumental element of it no matter what. My hardcore COB loving friends still say the instrumental part is great but they hate the singing.
|
| |
Woodlawn whatever
and what the fuck is cr00sh?
|
| |
If you have to ask you'll never understand.
|
| |
AH OH AH OH WAH OH WAH OH
Lame.
On their 4th studio attempt (I think?), you can really really start to notice just how much these guys struggle to make their songs sound different to one another. There is absolutely no band progression. This song could easily be placed in 'The Second Stage..' and no one would notice the difference in sound.
|
| |
I really like this song, but i think the people hatin should wait until the album comes out, because this is just the single so obviously its going to be more catchy, i mean if you heard the suffering you wouldnt really be prepared for the rest of GAIBS4 ya know? Can't wait for the new album!!!
|
| |
Song is meh, but final product should be better. Can't wait for this.
|
| |
But Devil In Jersey City was such a kick ass single, one of the best of all time if you ask me. Coheed have really failed to make good singles since. This Message Edited On 08.08.07

this seems quite different from the live version, Claudio's voice is higher than ever.
|
| |
Sounds like typical Coheed, but good song anyways.
I saw them at Lollapalooza last year when they had a replacement bassist and drummer, and they sounded pretty bad.
|
| |
HA! They sounded great. The soloing at the end of the show was incredible too. Something tells me they don't strive to make singles. They just make albums that have certain types of songs on them, and Pop-punkish sounding songs just so happen to be one of them.
