Sorry for baiting half the users here:
"Old News" - original news was buried, only saw the news picked up on Brooklyn Vegan and Metal Storm on google
"doom/drone" - I get it, but that's literally what they call themselves on bandcamp
|
| |
Drone I could get sometimes but doom is a clear no lmao
|
| |
I think doom/drone makes sense to me
|
| |
experimental noise doom deathrock, aye?
|
| |
drone/gaze
|
| |
oh damn I'm pretty stoked, totally missed this news in January I suppose
|
| |
"Drone I could get sometimes but doom is a clear no lmao"
I think if doom metal didn't exist they'd be called doom - they're all about that feeling
|
| |
In a January interview Dan also said Black Wing was getting another release this year. But he couldn't be more specific on timelines other than "this year".
|
| |
Now we just need a new Giles Corey album and my depression will be remedied
|
| |
I've always classified HANL as industrial.
|

Sweeet!

good news folks: https://www.sputnikmusic.com/images/albums/230746.jpg

They played two new songs at their sold out shows in Brooklyn last week (which I was there for both nights): Sea Of Worry and Dracula Bells. The former being the title track to the forthcoming album.
|
| |
Fuck I need a new studio recorded song more than anything in my life. Sea of Worry... interesting album title. I like it. Did they give any other details Acme?
|
| |
At the show? Not really, Jay. At the Friday show, Dan introduced it (Sea of Worry) simply as "This is a new song." I can tell you what it sounded like. It was pretty...surfy and even for HANL's standards, pretty upbeat. No word yet on a release date other than sometime later this year, but there's a brand new interview they did w/Kerrang that's now up for reading right here (a brief glimpse on what inspired the album & the album's title too): https://www.kerrang.com/features/have-a-nice-life-arent-joking/
At the end of the Kerrang article are dates for a west coast tour (!!!). My personal opinion for you west coast HANL fans: even if you're just a casual fan I'd recommend you see them live. Up until this year, they don't play live often so take advantage of it!
