Blues king Gary Clark Jr. has recently released his first single in over three years titled "This Land". It is the title track to Clark's third record which is set to be released on March 1st of 2019 via Warner Music Group.

The music video, directed by Savanah Leaf, is a story about the musicians life with racism in his home right in the middle of Trump country, Texas. In an interview with the Rolling Stone Clark mentions the following:

“I think it’s only right at this point in time, if you have a microphone louder than others, to speak out about that anger... I haven’t been through shit compared to my people. But if I can do anything with my opportunity, and say thank you to Dr. Martin Luther King for sacrificing your life so that I can have a microphone … that’s the least I can do.”

I've never heard of this guy before and I actually don't know why I clicked on this article but I'm glad I did. The song is fantastic.

Same boat as everyone else, don’t know why I clicked it, but I’m glad I did. This is phenomenal. One of the best protests songs I’ve heard. The video’s powerful as hell too.

He’s always been one of the best Guitar players going around but songwriting wise I’ve really wanted to see him push himself.

This album could finally be his masterpiece.
