Hmm, that's 2/2 now.
Is it ok to be excited for this?
|
| |
That's what I ask myself too. I'd be cautious still, but this is honestly good
|
| |
I don't care much for the opening riff but the rest is awesome. So far, this album is looking to make up for The Astonishing.
|
| |
i thought the same as mabbitt. opening riff was pretty standard but then it turned dope
|
| |
haven't listened to this band in forever. this wasn't bad, wasn't too special though.
|
| |
it's okay i guess
|
| |
the new in flames song is better
|
| |
Great mix of prog and ballad
|
| |
Actually pretty good.
|
| |
Good stuff, much better than the first single.
|
| |
The middle section is really pretty.
|
| |
Okay this is really good.
|
| |
first minute sounds like metallica
|
| |
^Yea, thought the same. Song isn’t bad but it’s too short for my taste. It certainly lacks the depth of their earlier compositions but it’s an immense improvement on the first single. Looking forward to the release now.
|
| |
i mean they cant really release super long singles now can they
|
| |
Well, why not? I don't think 3 minutes singles are that important anymore. The tracks should be catchy of course
|
| |
I think I read that no song will be longer than 7 or 8 minutes at all which is a bit disappointing for me as epics was what they were best at.
|
| |
long songs are a meme
|
| |
Song is pretty good, I still hate Mangini tho.
|
| |
This is really great - heavy, tasteful middle section, epic drum fill at the end and even has a bit of a thrash metal vibe at the start.
The vocal melodies didn't grab me at first, but the chorus really crept up on me after a few listens.
I wish it were longer, this could easily have been 10+minutes. It feels as if it should have been with the middle section - I would have liked the heavy start to go on for another minute or two.
@Davil - there is an ~8:30min song and a ~9:30min song. I am cautious because I do generally prefer the longer songs, but so long as they keep the songs energetic and heavy like these 2 singles, I'll be happy. Seems like they're going for a "stripped down, no bullshit" approach this time.

Getting big The Unforgiven vibes from this song.
Still my favorite band overall, but I think they're unlikely to reinvent the wheel at this point in their career, it's nice to see these guys still at it.
|
| |
Finally got around to hearing this, it's actually not bad.
Mangini is showing off a bit more and it's nice to see.
|
| |
Production is decent but there is still something 'Dad" about this and I have a feeling it's JP given he writes all the songs nowadays.
|
| |
What the hell? This actually doesn't suck.
Surprised to hear a good dT song after the embarrassment that was The Astonishing.
