We can still vote up until the 19th right? It says 17th-19th. You just need to make sure it's accurate (i.e. no additional editing time) so it counts.

From the ballot submission thread...

'Submissions will be accepted until the 17th at the earliest and 19th at the latest. This means that, if you are posting a rough draft, you have until the 17th to ensure it adheres to the correct format or else it will be deleted.'

So maybe people are still finalising their thoughts/plans? I am. Submissions can still be accepted until the 19th, but presumably if you've left a rough draft hanging there you run the risk of it being counted today & potentially being incorrect and/or being deleted.

How can you state a latest date, then push it forward? Not trying to be funny, it's just that people might be seeing Weds as the deadline, I certainly read it as such. I can have mine done today (& soon) if absolutely necessary.

Ah right, well as far as I can see there was nothing about the 19th being dependant on a potential spike in demand, so I went with the later date under the presumption it was the final deadline. I thought the 17th deadline was for people who had already submitted their list i.e. it would be counted, even IF they had forgotten to return & make any amendments. Personally I don't feel I was being particularly dense here, as this is not something I've done before.

Semantics & confusion aside I'm happy to submit my choices today in order to ensure they get counted & so you guys can potentially get on with calculating the results if the deadline isn't to be extended. Apologies for failing to understand the rules, I wasn't being awkward for the sake of it.

TBH the charts exist for a reason, the highly-rated stuff is bound to appear quite frequently.

The number of votes is more significant. A release might have a high average but if not enough active users are around to vote, then the album won't get awarded enough points to compete with albums that have 6x the number of ratings (or more), it's just not realistic.

Yeah. Flawed system for sure. I mean, my favorite album came out in November so basically all the voting was done before people got around to it.

I guess that's another problem, I'm not doing my personal list till January.

That's a problem with end of year lists in general, and the desire to post them before no one cares anymore

yeah that was my point, haha. I like how they obviously read SOME rules as they voted for exactly 10 albums, but messed up anyway.
