New eastern youth song 2018-11-13 by dimsim3478 | 1 Comments | Japanese emo/alternative trio eastern youth have just unveiled the music video for their new song "Tokeidai no Kane", which will be released on CD tomorrow (November 14) as part of a three-song single. "Tokeidai no Kane" is currently being used as the ending theme for the second season of the anime series Golden Kamuy; it is the first eastern youth song to be used in an anime. The other two tracks from the CD single will also be available in the form of a 7" single on December 12.
eastern youth is celebrating 30 years since their formation as a right-wing Oi! outfit in 1988. They are currently embarking on their 30th anniversary tour, which began on September 23 and will soon conclude in Shibuya, Tokyo on December 8. The band released their seventeenth studio album SONGentoJIYU last year, featuring newly recruited bassist Muraoka Yuka who replaced longtime member Ninomiya Tomokazu in 2015. eastern youth is still enjoying modest success in recent years, appearing at major Japanese festivals such as this year's Fuji Rock, Arabaki Rock Fest and Baycamp, and charting consistently within the top 50 on the Oricon album charts.
