Meh. Fans are freaking out a lot over this but I'm not too fazed. Suzuka has always been the true heart and soul of this band (besides the awesome backing instrumental band). Maybe it's just cause I never saw them live, but I don't see Yui or even Moa being as critical to Babymetal's existence as Suzuka.

Anyways, I definitely dig this song. Awesome guitar work.

I'm sure Yui and Moa contributed a lot in terms of live performances, but I'm interested to see what they all do next.

I saw them live, Yui and Moa basically just danced. Tbh, I don't think those two even sang live, only Su. When she left the stage and let the other two take lead for Gj! they were lip synching over a track.

But anyways, Babymetal is still considered an idol group, right? This is what happens in idol groups - members leave. At least it's not one of the most integral members, like when Pour Lui left BiS earlier this year.

Instrumentals sound like After the Burial discovered Fractalize. You can almost hear the strings wobble. And death growls? Wtf? So jarring with all the kiddie vox in major. Nothing about this group makes sense.

As for Yui leaving, doesn't matter much. This group is basically Suzuka, two backup dancers, and and some really solid session musicians getting paid to mess around.

Not saying my tastes are perfect, but how can somebody give Hawthorne Heights and Breaking Benjamin a ton of 5/5 ratings but trash Babymetal?

If they don't replace Yui then I'm guessing Moa will get a more prominent role in the band. Do wonder if maybe doing the higher pitched "kawaii" vocals may have been the main problem for Yui though. Because Rei Kuromiya left Ladybaby last year due to the pressure on her voice, and since shifted focus to her own more legit J-rock band BRATS, where she sings in a much more natural range.

The best thing since they released Karate. I'm surprised by how heavy and modern the instrumentation is. This band are something special.

It only sounds modern because it’s played in an asinine tuning and saturated in effects until it sounds like a Skrillex song.

Will wait to see what Yui's solo stuff sounds like before I'm able to judge, but this is why I brought up Rei. Listen to her vocals in Ladybaby and then in BRATS. There's a marked difference, which I think is what causes a lot of idol singers to leave at a young age if they're not already forced out:
