He'll be remembered, definitely. When I was in my metal phase 5-6 years ago, We Came As Romans were always hovering over me. I've never been a big fan of their music, but they were omnipresent. I wonder where they'll go from here.
And 28 is far, far too young. R.I.P.

| |
Jesus.
| |
Dang. Used to love these guys
| |
Fucking tragic.
RIP
| |
Far, far too early. RIP
| |
This hits me so hard, WCAR was the first band that got me into metalcore as a whole. It's awful news, Kyle was such a loving and nice guy
RIP
| |
They were on of the first for me too Steak
| |
This came out of nowhere. And they had just released their best album in the last year as well... this sucks. RIP
| |
Hard RIP.
| |
WOW....
RIP
| |
RIP
| |
same here Steak, used to listen to the first EP and album by these guys religiously. way too young to go, RIP
| |
28 is way too young to die. RIP.
| |
RIP
| |
I loved these guys when I was in middle school. This sucks
| |
Oh my god wtf. Just saw them a few months ago
| |
wtf
| |
Although I couldn't stand this guy's singing, rest in peace. You will forever be instilled somewhere deep inside my heart that stores nostalgia. Even though I didn't care for his singing, I'm pretty sure this guy did wonders with producing their albums and composing the piano and synth parts. To Plant A Seed had the most wonderful atmosphere thanks to him. He will be missed.
| |
Man I freaking loved this band in high school. Still listen to their older stuff even now. This breaks my heart especially since we’re about the same age. So, so young and tragic.
| |
You don’t really need to clarify that you hated his voice. Better just just say RIP.
| |
I was thinking that too, but I wanted to be honest. Still had to give him props for being a great musician.
| |
But, I guess you just skimmed through all the good stuff huh
| |
tragic.
RIP Kyle
| |
Those fucking lyrics now...
| |
No!
| |
Those lyrics tore me apart. I can’t imagine how shitty the other guys in WCAR feel. Praying for all of them. RIP Kyle. Gonna jam To Plant A Seed in his honor.
| |
RIP always dug their music. When I saw them a few months back they killed it and Kyle sounded great and was going hard.
| |
may he rest in peace, very sad news
| |
This is so sad Alexa play To Plant A Seed full album
| |
IcelandRevel most pretentious comment ever 🙄 great way to start a thread .
| |
RIP
| |
RIP
| |
Such a beautiful voice RIP
| |
Damn, that's tragic. Rest well, man.
| |
so fucking tragic, RIP hard
| |
First concert i ever went to was these guys
Hard RIP
| |
far too young! RIP
| |
I remember working at Wapred Tour 2015 and meeting Kyle. Because the past few concerts rained out, they put all the headliners on first. WCAR was so excited to close the show that night. I loved how the crowd lifted him as he kneeled during the bridge of 'Hope' when he sung, "We won't fall to our knees/we are the one true hope/so give me an answer," and the rain just started pouring after that. Such an underrated group in todays spectrum. RIP.
| |
Wonder if this is related to him being accused of sexual assault/MeToo movement
| |
i don't know if i would call that sexual assault
| |
Don’t know anything about it, just remember seeing something about him being accused of something of that nature
| |
-F-
| |
Sickening to see someone younger than me bite the dust.
| |
I think it was just assault, and no excuses but was a mild case by most standards. He actually apologized for the crap he did when he was younger before any accusations appeared. He did do some rough stuff though.
Still really sad, been on a Discog run
| |
RIP, and that after they made their best record in years... He will be missed
| |
that's so young, at least they put out a decent amount of stuff already
| |
Used to listen to these guys and liked their early stuff. 28 is far far too young to pass. R.I.P
| |
This is the band that got me into metalcore. Kind of a gateway to Underoath/ABR/TDWP. Saw them so many times, the guy always seemed like nice loving dude. Hearing this yesterday was surreal, still hasn't totally set in. One thing I always admired about them is that they never seemed to have beef with themselves or others - everybody loved the dudes and never had any drama. Their lineup remained the same for about a decade. It blew my mind when the drummer Eric stepped down....but that doesn't even compare to this. Never would have guessed WCAR, of all bands, would be dealing with a loss this great. RIP Kyle.
| |
28's way too fucking young. Rest in peace
| |
Rip but I totally understand why someone else would wanna kill themselves
| |
I know it’s not definitely a suicide but if it was I get it
| |
Heard through the grapevine that their tour manager said OD. But I understand that with severely depressed people, the line between accidental OD and intentional OD can get blurry.
| |
An Ever-Growing Wonder just popped in my head today, I've always had a soft spot for that song. RIP
| |
this guy fucking crushed it on the taylor swift cover. rip.
| |
Horrible news. Too many young musicians dying as of late. RIP dude, band was always a guilty pleasure of mine.
| |
RIP. These dudes slapped when I was in high school. Jamming out to the Dreams EP and To Plant a Seed. They formed in Troy, MI, not even half an hour from where I live. When I was a kid I thought it was really cool seeing a 'local' band making waves in the metalcore scene I was just getting into.
| |
RIP
Really liked this man's voice. Wonder how he died.
| |
Damn saw these guys live back in high school. Sad stuff. Rip
| |
So damn sad. I really like WCAR. :*(
| |
wow RIP
| |
way too young, their self-titled remains one of my favourites
| |
"Really liked this man's voice. Wonder how he died."
the way its reported makes it sound like possible drug overdose
| |
Wow, he was far too young..... RIP
| |
"the way its reported makes it sound like possible drug overdose"
Ugh I hope not
| |
been reading about this all day, people are saying it was heroin.
he was in the hospital a week before he passed, so maybe a coma was involved after an overdose
poor guy. rest in peace, brother. love the electronics you wrote on the new album
| |
Usually thats the case when causes of death are "unknown"
feelsbadman
| |
Yeah. No one just drops dead at 28. Usually drugs or car crash in those cases. Regardless this guy has been on my mind the past few days. I’m still bummed out. I really feel for his band mates and family. I had a roommate who struggled with heroin. He’s been in and out of rehab a couple times. I don’t think he’ll ever quit it. Some bad stuff. Not saying that’s the case, but wouldn’t be surprised if so
| |
This was very unexpected. I used to listen to their first album during high school. May he RIP, he was way way way too damn young. :/
| |
young legends die at 27.
or 34.
anyway RIP
| |
Confirmed drug overdose. So fucking sad.
| |
At 28 fucking years old.
28.
What. The. Fuck.
He was the best aspect of WCAR, this sucks. This really fucking blows.
| |
Great keyboardist/vocalist that kept getting better and better. "Cold Like War" was WCAR's best album to date too. RIP.
| |
it'll be interesting to see how WCAR move forward from this
