I think it's alright. The big curse of having a distinctive vocal style is no matter who you sing for, it's going to sound like your main band. It sounds like it took inspiration from the gothic side of the 2007 untitled Korn album.

Oh, how the mighty have fallen
|
| |
Alright [2]
Hard to make something really unlistenable with a voice like Davis' anyway
|
| |
Might check this later
|
| |
Not bad. If the whole album sounds like this it'll get old but it's a good single
|
| |
SCATMAN AIN'T SCATTIN'
|
| |
Hopefully he will on other songs. Probably trying not to since that's "KoRn" even more than his other vocal styles elements
|
| |
Vocal melodies remind me of Evanescence.
Not bad overall, but some definite flaws. Better than I expected, so that's something I guess.
|
| |
He badly needs to do a scat album
OM NAMA NEMEH OM NAMA NEMEH
|
| |
Actually not bad
|
| |
"He badly needs to do a scat album"
I'd buy that shit in a heartbeat
|
| |
Lmao same. Make that shit my ringtone.
|
| |
Make it your alarm, wake up every day confused and angry, like typical white boys.
|
| |
Song is actually pretty catchy, good stuff. Scat album would be incredible, maybe an album of covers done in his scat style.
This might be sacrilege and I only listened to it once, but I got Katatonia vibes a couple of times here.
|
| |
Pretty good.
|
| |
Gmork I didn't pick up any Katatonia, but it does sound within the gothic metal sphere.
|
| |
lol the verse sounds like Marianne faithful on memory remains
Really excited to completely ignore this
|
| |
decent. chorus is killer. good to se JD stil being relevant.
|
| |
Decent! Album could be interesting!
|
| |
"Gmork I didn't pick up any Katatonia, but it does sound within the gothic metal sphere."
Mainly that riff in the chorus and the electronic lead over it, and the quiet part during the bridge. Obviously not the vocals or lyrics though, just something that popped into my head a couple of times.
|
| |
oooooooh nooooooooooo
wait its actually decent
|
| |
That was decent, nothing I'd voluntarily put on tho
|
| |
it was ok I guess. Listenable, so automatically better than the last 6 KoRn albums
|
| |
"Listenable, so automatically better than the last 6 KoRn albums"
Lmao you right
|
| |
wrong tho
|
| |
just googled american satan
lofuckingl I gotta see it
|
| |
Not bad.
|
| |
Much better than I expected.
|
| |
If the whole thing follows this vein it should have a decent potential
|
| |
A lot better than my initial expectations. Its not something I'd go out of my way to listen to, but as a KoRn fan, I appreciate it.
|
| |
Enjoyed that, looking forward to this.
|
| |
I did ask in the Meds forum for them to change the name of the artist page to simply "Jonathan Davis" but it seems nobody noticed it. Don't really want to make a new artist entry when they're basically the same thing.
|
| |
hearable
|
| |
Jonathan Davis has a really nice voice.
|
| |
This will certainly be an interesting album.
