Avoid the overpriced and overrated American models and go for a used Japanese model, trust me. It doesn't even need to be a Fender if it's from Japan. A lot of the knock-off brands are amazing.

I'll never get tired of saying it and don't mean to be disrespectful to fans: this band, at least for me, died with "Pinkerton". The band that arose back from the dead with the (still pretty decent swansong) "Green Album" at the dawn of the millennium was a completely different band from the 90s original line-up era. And I'll never stop thinking about Matt Sharp. Apparently he was more than just a bass player and back-up vocalist. After that, I abandoned them. Peace.

^ I'd say they turned straight dogshit after Pinkerton, which itself was decent but not even close to how good the blue record was.

first two records are solid, everything after has a couple fun pop rock singles but nothing outstanding, until White Album which is their best work in 20+ years. This sounds like a return to Make Believe territory
