Robert Pollard album no. 100

2017-01-26 by Alastor | 16 Comments
Legendary songwriter Robert Pollard will release his 100th album in April under the Guided By Voices moniker.

The album, titled 'August by Cake', will arrive on April 7th via Robert Pollard’s Rockathon label. Featuring 32 tracks, it will be the 100th album from Pollard since GBV’s 1986 debut Forever Since Breakfast. It'll also be the band’s first double album.

To get a first impression, you can already listen to the song “Hiking Skin” off of the new album:

Measured by the number of good songs in an artist's discography, I'm pretty sure uncle Bob could be considered the greatest songwriter of all time.

Dude's got nothing on Buckethead. 273 Albums as of now, not counting anything he has done with Praxis of Death Cube K.

@SandwichBubble: He has made several other albums as a solo artist and with a couple of other bands, so the 100 albums aren't exclusively GBV-records.
