Didn't give their last record much love, I adored Black Gives Way to Blue.

That was 2013? Holy shit. Also that album was hardly well-recieved. Was super mediocre.

Mediocre by AIC's standards would be well-received by most bands.

Their last one as actually pretty good, so I'm looking foward towards this one.

Wow I was just listening to these guys in my car yesterday wondering if they were gonna work on a new album soon.

I am expecting sweet riffs, sweet guitar tones, but hopefully a mix that isn't loud as fuck

Devil was great. I have high hopes for the new album.

Last record was ok, but man BGWTB was something else....hope they can match that again.

Their last album was bad ass, less catchy than BGWTB but it showed they aren't interested in phoning it in, predicting this next one rules.

They've been very consistent with their current line-up, so this should no doubt be another great release.

Yeah, unfortunately the mix has been their biggest issue in the albums with DuVall. The wall of sound is really off-putting.

Their albums with DuVall have been great. Proof that the band wasn't dependent upon Layne Staley, even though he was a huge part of their old sound. I'm glad they continued without him.

Looking forward to it...yea it will never be the same, it wont ...the facelift/dirt/jar of flies/sap days are probably gone but I always am interested in a new alice in chains album ...maybe one day they'll make an amazing record again

Black gives way to blue is pretty amazing in my opinion, and one of biggest comebacks I can think of.

Layne Staley may have been the voice, but Jerry Cantrell was always the writing force behind AiC and has always written a majority of the lyrics.

Hoping they ditch the loudness war producer they used on the last two LPs. Their quiet moments are just as powerful.

Seriously, dude works with the Foo Fighters, Deftones, Rush, Ghost, Mastodon, and just cranks that shit to the max volume every single time. It's infuriating.

Idk I really thought his mixed worked well on Koi No Yokan, but yeah he's butchered these last two Alice records

Always thought Jerry's lyricism was on point. Idk Stone is a little corny but Devil had some pretty great lyrics honestly

devil dinosaurs was still great, even if it was less catchy than bgwtb. If anything devil was TOO grungey and that's why it was a little harder to swallow. Anyway Cantrell is the fucking grunge master and I don't doubt this album will at least be good.
