Sounds good! As I saw, Marco Minnemann won't be drumming on this album, sadly. Anybody knows if Guthrie will still be there?

Steven Wilson reminding everyone he's an old man. Outside of the cringey initial lyrics this sounds solid though. The build up in general is pretty incredible.

"Lol what a hypocrite"

Err, he sings about his son after that and since he has no son, it's clear that the lyrics are from an in-character point of view. So no, nothing hypocritical about it.
It's just a really shitty line.

Not only is the Facebook line cringy, but the production and mixing throughout most of the song gave way too much of a mainstream pop vibe for Steven. However, the background spacey-sounding keybard with the low tone guitars in the last five seconds or so seemed pretty promising.

In a sense, though, I'm kinda interested in a theoretical dream pop album from Steven Wilson even if it can go very wrong.

Lol the metal horns at the least metal sounding thing ever. I enjoyed that clip, minus the Facebook line. But it wouldnt be Steven Wilson without at least one cringy line

"I'm tired of Facebook, I'm tired of my failing health
I'm tired everyone, and that includes myself
But being alone now, it doesn't bother me."

I'm not sure of anything after that, but the lyrics don't seem bad to me. It's just awkward hearing the word "Facebook" in song lyrics. The overall sound and feel of the song is great. It kind of sounds like HCE part 2, which to be honest is exactly what I want from him. I'm all in.

just really clumsy the way he writes, lyrics that are very literal and don't fuck about trying to be obtuse are fine but...his stuff always so banal

The line probably wouldn't even stick out as much if it hadn't been the first line in the clip. I mean it's bad either way but still

It wouldn't be so obvious that he is bored of making music if he wasnt making songs about being dull and exhausted

Steve still hasn't got this Luddite, more-woke-than-thou bullshit out of his system, I see. That's always been my biggest turnoff with his music (which I generally really like otherwise).

"It's just awkward hearing the word "Facebook" in song lyrics."

I think its just completely not poetic, like having a lyric about texting, I always wince at stuff like that.

I blame Geoff Tate.

BlazinBlitzer

Because using the literal context of social media in lyrics have zero depth to them most of the time.

Guthrie is apparently also gone as he is bandmates with Marco and (I think) they were touring together at the time the spat arose.
