i just got done listening to opiate and honestly, if they made a movie... it'd probably just be the band and some friends getting high and discussing epiphanies they've had while their brains were fried..
then someone would piss on maynard's lighter and screw his lazyboy
|
| |
Are you trying to be funny?
|
| |
if maynard made a movie, i think it would be really weird and trippy. or it would be him just talking
|
| |
Dek: No, he's being honest. I'm sure it would be terrible.
Of course, all Tool's little peons would praise it as being "too deep for our concious minds to understand... You have to unearth the fragments of conceptual though within LSD to fully appreciate their sheer genius... Remember, the authorities wish to supress these ideals... OBEY NO ONE... except Tool, of course, they're bitchin"
Tool are overrated. There, I said it. This Message Edited On 06.13.07This Message Edited On 06.13.07

Tool ARE overrated. Great band, but overrated. Tool fanboys are a blast to fuck with, though.
|
| |
Hmm. Yeah...I'd rather they just recorded a live DVD or something. Or have Danny Carey do that instructional DVD he's been promising for years.
|
| |
im down with anything tool. that drum video would probly interest me more though.
|
| |
Have you see Maynard in sleeping dogs lie? He was pretty funny in that.
|
| |
I am slightly interested in this. Yeah, Tool can be a little pretentious at times but you have to admit they come up with interesting music/art.
|
| |
i wasn't aware that anyone thought of Tool as more then a pretty decent progressive rock/metal band.
unless there are those of you out there who think you can actually learn something "deep" from pop music.
i like the band, the tunes rock pretty good. pretentious lyrics and album art are common on a lot of bands and helps sell the shit to college kids. whatever, doesn't mean the music isn't great.
|
| |
yeah tool are just pretentious wankers but I like most of their stuff
|
| |
^^^ I disagree with that statement.
Adam Jones and Danny Carey especially seem like pretty cool guys. Maynard is hilarious as well.
This would be a pretty cool thing for them to do I reckon.
|
| |
dbgarf, I am pretty sure music can be more than music sometimes. I mean come on, you are telling me that good covers of albums couldn't pass for art? Have you seen some of the shit that passes for art?
|
| |
if your going to be stereotypical and say that everyone of tool's fans is obsessed with them and think's their music is too deep for everyone than thats definitly where your wrong. If they made a movie it would probably be them playing live shows and goofing off offstage. Maynard comes off as an asshole but hes a very funny guy, and very smart too. They are artists as some have said, and would probably reflect that in the movie.

"it would be a narrative story in a surreal fashion with as much money and special effects we could throw at it."
Surprise, surprise.
|
| |
I like Tool, but their fanboys can get on my nerves sometimes.
I don't see Tool as being as pretentious as everybody makes them out to be. I mean, of course they are at times, but seriously - the guy wrote a song about the size of his d ick. They've got a pretty good sense of humor.
|
| |
yeah they are also pretty funny but i can't take some of their stuff seriously.
although I would see it with too many beers chucked down my throat. :P
