So hyped for this album! Was jamming The Long Procession a few days ago and now I see this. 2016 is looking like it will be a great year for metal.

Just listened to the track and it's great! Cleans seem a little amiss but I'm sure they'll be fine in the studio recording.

He only has the most common four post-metal bands rated so I'm not surprised he'd say that. Plus, their debut isn't technically only a post-metal record as more post-hardcore with spritz of post-metal/sludge mixed-in. The new material does sound like it's going for a more straightforward atmospheric sludge/post-metal approach which I love.

love how they combine different genres, plus the tracklisting on their first album was just about perfect. almost as if each song builds up for the next, makes the whole listen much more rewarding

Fine...I generalized too much. Sure there are other post-metal bands around (a lot of which I have tried). But nobody really defines the genre anymore like the big four did. This band is good enough to do that potentially.
After several years on this site I should know by now to finish my point and not leave it open and vague for Sputnik users to jump on. My bad.
