Elitist call it quits

2015-09-07 by bubbahotep92 | 39 Comments
Perennial metalcore contenders Elitist have decided to call it quits after 5 years of being together. The band released a statement Monday, September 7th via Facebook of the news.

"Hey guys, after 5 years of being a band we have decided to close the book on Elitist. To everyone who supported us over the years, Equal Vision Records, and to all of the former band members who contributed along the way, we thank you dearly. Recording albums and being able to tour with bands we've looked up to for years, was more than enough for us.

Included with the announcement is a link to download a few demo tracks and re-recordings the band had been working on prior to the split. Less than 2 months ago the band released their self titled album through Equal Vision Records

It's for the better. Band completely gave up their originality and energetic momentum after their debut.

Hmm very strange considering they just released an album. It was shite though, and I'm pretty sure they would've continued along those lines anyway.

Yeah, definitely a case of an average metalcore band just calling it quits. Had some good songs here and there, but they never just had anything that you can call "that Elitist song."

Makes sense. They've just been having a huge identity crisis. Every release has had a different sound and none of them were as good as their first EP.

Nah, it would have have to be followed by "Elitist actually doesn't call it quits, returns after a day."

Reshape Reason was pretty goddamn good. Caves was awesome as well. Everything else they dropped though was either meh or just boring.

"for the better they fell off hard after Reshape Reason"

They fell off hard after Caves. How a band could go from an excellent debut EP to shit after shit album after that is beyond me.
