AILD new bassist/album 2007-05-21 by Zoo | 16 Comments | Nick Hipa confirmed rumors of Clint Norris's departure during the New England Metal & Hardcore Festival.
Nick Hipa:
"He wanted to pursue a normal life and he's getting married, and he was just kind of ready to close a chapter in his life," Hipa explains. "So Clint's moved on, and we're all still great friends with each other and we're all at his wedding.
It's kind of a hard thing to fill, because Clint, not only did he play bass, he did all our clean singing, you know?" Hipa says of his contributions. "On top of that, he's a very charismatic and identifiable member of the band. So losing him, it's hard, but he didn't write any of the music with us, so . . . it's not a loss as far as what the band is going to sound like. It's going to be unusual and maybe a bum-out for many kids who are like, 'Aw, man, I miss that guy."
Two different statements can be read below, the first link is Hipa's and the second is Lambesis's.

I'm mad excited about "An Ocean Between Us". I am sad, however, to see Clint go. I was hoping he would do more vocals on their new album. As this is no longer a possibility, I hope that Gilbert's voice is as good or better than Clint's.

On top of that, he's a very charismatic and identifiable member of the band Afterthought if I've ever seen one.
| | | I've heard some stories about this bassist and some stuff he did, then regretted doing, in Amsterdam.
| | | He was a pretty decent clean singer for a metalcore band. Too bad.
| | | I'd like to hear one or more of these stories, Cocaine.
(I googled it but all I got was some director guy named Tommy Chong)
| | | lol, Tommy Chong.
| | | When does the new album come out?
| | | Cocaine, that's what you get in Europe's weed capital. ;)
| | | Man those are some big shoes to fill. Hope all works out well for the band.
| | | One of the worst bands ever.
| | | Man, now that the band lost the only thing that made them even a hint of interesting to me is gone. Oh well.
| | | Awww...I liked the clean vocals. Still exited for the album, though
| | | AILD aren't a bad metalcore band by all means. Their last couple of albums have had some real gems on them and Clint's clean vocals were pretty good...
New album could be interesting.
| | | damn this sucks, i really liked his clean vocals. AILD are a great band and i hope their new album is even better than shadows of security
| | | the new album is bound to suck.
| | | i highly doubt it will suck, at all, but it probably will be different
