Coachella 2015 lineup released

2015-01-06 by Rudy K. EMERITUS | 32 Comments
The 16th edition of the annual Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival released its lineup today. It's interesting to see Coachella pursue the old folks' home demographic with AC/DC headlining Friday (along with Steely Dan as an undercard) and geezer-in-spirit Jack White taking Saturday's slot, while Drake's closing gig on Sunday was inevitable.

Other notable artists include: Tame Impala, Florence & The Machine, Run The Jewels, Belle And Sebastian, Caribou, FKA twigs, Raekwon & Ghostface Killah (together), St. Vincent, the reunited Ride, the War On Drugs, Angel Olsen, Swans, the Weeknd, Interpol, Brand New, Ryan Adams, Parquet Courts, Cloud Nothings, Flying Lotus, Father John Misty, Circa Survive, Alt-J, Sylvan Esso, Lykke Li, Toro Y Moi, the reunited Drive Like Jehu, Jenny Lewis, Jamie xx, Joyce Manor, Ryn Weaver, Mac DeMarco, Tyler, The Creator, and Lil B, among many others.

Tickets for both weekend 1 (April 10-12) and weekend 2 (April 17-19) go on sale Wednesday, January 7, 2015 @ 12:00pm PST. Tickets may be purchased via Coachella's website linked below.

This is gonna sell out quick, just watch. 10 minutes in and they're all gone. On the other hand, this lineup isn't bad. Was hoping that TV On The Radio would make it and Young the Giant too, but oh well. Caribou is gonna scream for sure. All the mainstream fans will probably only go for Drake or something, what else do you expect :D

Shitty headliners, but really interesting collections of bands. So it's the same bands for both weekends, correct?

Pretty good lineup. It's not a bunch of obscure bullcrap bands. And the variety is very nice.

Ehhh, I'd go see Steely Dan, but the rest is too hipster for me.

Oh Circa would be neat too. They seem really out of place, though.

nothing will ever beat that one year with Radiohead, Refused, At the Drive-In, Godspeed, etc... but this is still pretty rad.
