Berlin-based Estonian artist Mauno Meesit, the man behind the synthpop project Sinine, will be releasing his first singer-songwriter-styled acoustic album Closer in Q1 of 2015 via his own label Grainy Records. To build anticipation, he has now released a preview track from the upcoming record. The song. entitled 'Blue Bird', can be listened to over at this location: http://www.maunomeesit.com/

Mauno's press release over the upcoming record reads as follows:

Fascinated by little imperfections and dusty sounds, he recorded vocals with a 1940’s American microphone, tracked guitars with a 100 years old Austrian parlor guitar, and added slight touches of untuned piano and electronic sounds.

Though this will be the first release under his own name, Mauno Meesit has previously released two albums on German Accession Records under his electronic music moniker "Sinine". He has written music for several theatre plays and TV series, has been awarded and nominated at the Estonian Music awards and has featured on electronic pop and alternative charts since 2009.

“I feel very inspired by acoustic instruments and those microscopic sounds that you can hear when you stop for a moment and take the time to listen to how the sounds play with silence. Silence is not emptiness, it always has its own sound that holds everything else together. I wanted to capture the feeling that I have when I am sitting alone with my guitar in a quiet little room while singing only to myself. I recorded the songs so closely and silently that the listener can almost feel as if I am singing the songs right next to him/her. That is why the upcoming album will be named Closer
".
