I kinda wish it was a Muse cover now; it'd be interesting to see how they'd play it (especially given the groove in the Muse song)

Spence isn't a bad vocalist, I just feel like Periphery would be way better without him. If you listen to P1, his flow on songs like Insomnia is awful. They're all phenomenal musicians and are more than capable of writing driving, atmospheric songs without a vocalist. He should just jump into From First to Last (where he fits way better) and Periphery should continue as an instrumental outfit. It won't happen, but a dude can dream.

Also I'm curious as to whether or not they'll pull off a double album or not. I feel as though they're generally a bad idea and filler kind of becomes inevitable. A lot of bands like Thursday have tried it and have scrapped the idea. Hopefully this is cool but I'm not holding my breath.

I have high hopes and was completely surprised this will be a double album. This should be pretty great I expect. I still don't understand why people hate Spencer's vocals. I love his vocals and think it's gives the instrumentation a unique twist.

if you've never heard periphery with a vocalist other than spencer i can see someone saying this, but being that spencer is the most cringe-inducing vocalist they've had and chris, jake, and casey were all rad in their own way, it's enough to make the band wear out quickly

Seriously, I listen to some shit people hate on, the big difference is that I understand the hate while all (okay, most) Periphery fans just cry in response about how "SPENTHERTH VOCALTH ARE GOOD OKAY!?"
I can't even listen to this band because of him.
I try out new songs as they come because I know the band has talent, but I just can't get past the god awful, whiny singing and mediocore screaming.
It doesn't make the band unique, it makes them unbearable and super alienating to many listeners.

I really don't even know. I hardly care for cleans in metal, but at this point I'd be open to hearing any other established vocalist in place of Spenther to see if they could take Periphery to a better place.
