Just when this year couldn't get any better *-*
|
| |
Hopefully this'll be amazing
|
| |
Just edited it on computer, I really can't type on my phone.
|
| |
A cover album is still an album haha
|
| |
mmmmmmmmm yes
|
| |
Wow. Surprised Sputnik News posted this. It's "old" in a way. Found out a few weeks ago.
The old songs on here are a bit disappointing with only 6 new tracks, but it's nice to have all the singles on one album.
Not sure how "Nippon" will fit on this album if it's the original version, but we'll see. She played an acoustic version of the
song recently that could fit nicely on this album.
Anyone interested in keeping up to date about this album should head on over to the Electric Mole forums.

More people should check out Heisei Fuuzoku.

the orchestral one? that's great. i was late to that. enjoyed her covers album earlier this year too. saw mixed responses to that.
looking forward to this.
|
| |
man, cant wait to jam this
|
| |
awesome
|
| |
So, it's dropped. It's great. Anyone listen to it yet?
|
| |
not yet but keen. didn't realise it was out so soon
|
| |
didnt this happen forever ago
|
| |
it did not
|
| |
I've listened to it, great album but Shouso, Sanmon and Muzai are much better for me.
|
| |
only three songs in - it's cool so far but lacking the standout tracks like on her earlier solo stuff.
|
| |
That's why you have the second half Chris, much better then the first. Irohanihoheto onwards minus Kodoku no Akatsuki (Shin Keko-ban) is gold.
|
| |
oh, good. agree with you so far - hearing the middle section of it now and very solid. I dig the mixes on her recent stuff. the bass gets a lot of attention.
seen a lot of comments from people kinda rolling their eyes at the lingering jazz influence but i like what she's been doing. and there's still variety. i agree with you re: Shouso and SG, I'd add Karuki but i'm seemingly in the minority that prefers her recent stuff to Muzai.
|
| |
I like Karuki no where near as much as everyone else, my least fav Shiina but it's the one I respect the most for it's amount of vareity and Shiina doing something so drastically different. I'm happy whatever she does, but people are generally doing that comparing her more recent stuff compared to her earlier material. I have no idea why SG is seen as the worst Shiina, my second fav of hers and flows the best as a whole.
|
| |
assuming i just heard Kodoku - auto-tune.
i'm super impressed with Karuki. there are a few songs on Shouso I'm not so keen on - Karuki irons all that out.
agree about SG. Tsugō no Ii Karada is possibly my favourite song of hers. so much fun, great arrangement. it's everything I could ask for in a pop song and a little more. and maybe the best music video I've ever seen.
|
| |
Shiina with auto tune just sounds...odd but the song also to me is rather dull (and I don't completely hate auto tune mainly due to Sekai no Owari). Tsugo is a stunner, especally that video but for me Shun is her best song not only on that album but she's ever written. She melts me on that song, and that piano solo is such a joy to listen to. I'm wondering on my rating for her new album, may jam it again when I go to town to get Pizza.
|
| |
i enjoyed it. as you said, it picked up.
yeah Shun is great. i remember you mentioning that on here once. can't understand the consensus on that album.
|
| |
To me this album is an extension of her SG sound with a bit of rock added. I love the new tracks, as well as the old ones added. The auto-tune song is the worst song on here, but it's growing on me. NIPPON sort of disrupts the flow of the end of the album and I can only think of it as Japan's World Cup theme now, but I like it regardless.
Some people complaining about the production on this album being too loud, but I haven't really noticed it.
Even if I don't like this album as much as her old stuff, it's still solid and I'm happy she's still around.
|
| |
holy fuck, yes
|
| |
"Some people complaining about the production on this album being too loud, but I haven't really noticed it."
...i didn't wanna say anything but yes lol. mixes are great but mastering par for the course. my speakers nearly knocked me out when I hit play
"Even if I don't like this album as much as her old stuff, it's still solid and I'm happy she's still around." likewise - two brand new LPs in one year. well, brand new to me.
|
| |
I agree with the production on the new tracks, the sax/trombone in track 1 hurts my ears and I adore Shouso's production :[

lol
|
| |
i dig the new production it's BANGIN
|
| |
ear drum bangin'. i accept it Japan. it must be LOUD.
