I really like it. Even if it's a bit weak in general, relative to their other harder songs (Xenoflux, Of Petrichor Weaves Black Noise) it's a massive improvement vocally and the instrumentation doesn't feel as claustrophobic and haphazard as previously

You people are nuts this is amazing. There's so many layers here, and such a gigantic awesome see-saw swing of moods.

Yeah, it's good track. Sometimes I wish they would focus more on the softer instrumentation and use the heaviness only for dynamics. They're a bit too heavy handed.

^^^I hear what you're saying but I disagree. There's a lot going on in each section, there's 2
layers of guitars doing 2 different things more often than not, really comes through in a good pair
of headphones.

The heaviness functions as a vessel for the more complicated riffs and the badass violin playing.
How full it sounds is sort of an after effect.

Wyrmholes leaked on Youtube and it's a lot better than this track.

Needs multiple listens guys seriously. This is dense as fuck.


Ah well. The taste-in-general of sputniker's just isn't quite aligned with these guys the way I am.

Last 2 minutes are emotional as hell, gets my blood pumping with the first 5 minutes and sends me soaring with the last 2.

You're talking to someone who derives a massive emotional impact from every song this band has written. Slightly biased.

That being said, a good portion of the stuff people are here find emotionally dense (Agalloch, Isis, Cult of Luna, etc) I'm bored to tears with.

the climax is amazing. at the 5 min mark this song gets hugeeee. 8:20 goosebumps every time. this is one of their best song yet imo

doesn't get any better than this for me.

I think it sounds different from the rest of their catalog, which is a good sign. I also think Presland
should have come up with a more tasteful (or exciting) tom groove starting at around 5:35. However, that use of dynamics and minimalism is an incredible addition to their sound.

^Agree with you both. They know they get a little too crazy for their own good sometimes. The middle of this song reminds me of the soft break in tapestry where they're making a conscious effort to tone it way down. Which makes the epic last 2 minutes that much more inspired.

It's cool Cap, Tim himself has said, can't please everyone so don't bother trying. I just get touchy cause this is my favorite band. I'm sure you never would have guessed lol.

These guys are ultra skilled and do compose some sweet songs, but personally I feel like they over-compose and try too hard to the point that it can be hard to listen to unless youre really in the mood for that sort of thing.

If you dig em dig em HARD though bro. I'm the same way as you with the band Evergrey- if people don't love them I take it personally and get all defensive about it lol.

For sure man, there's A LOT of shit going on in their songs, can totally see people being like omgwtfpleaseshtap lol. Not me though, I'm always in the mood for Neo.

Checking Evergrey now, if I don't like them I'll be sure not to tell you ;)
