SYL reveals album title 2006-03-27 by Alex101 | 8 Comments | Canadian metallers Strapping Young Lad, a project formed by Devin Townsend, has set "The New Black" as the title for their fifth studio album that should be released this summer. The band has already started recording it.
Released last March, "Alien" is SYL's latest studio release and the follow-up to their 2003 self-titled album that marked their first recording since 1997's "City".
For the tour of the new album, SYL is going to perform at Ozzfest this July and August.

And Gene Hoglan is the Atomic clock of drumming. That man literally IS a machine. I believe he has robotic legs.

fucking immense band! a mate lent me "alien" and i still havnt given it back to him. the guitars are amazing, the drums are inhuman, and devins vocals are in equal amounts brutal and spellbinding (apparently he sings about 5 or 6 vocal harmonies all tracked together for the melodic parts, and it sounds amazing, see "Love?" for a good example).
can't wait for this!

Old SYL is just as good as the new, I think...'City' is and always will be a classic album.
