These guys may have lost Joey, but I feel like everybody is really overlooking the songwriting skills of the rest of the band.
People seem to be putting so much emphasis on Corey, they forget about the other members. Mick and Jim have always
worked really well together, so there's really no doubt the riffs will rule. Also, Joey was pretty strongly opposed to the more
experimental songs, so now maybe that he's gone, Clown will finally be able to do some crazy shit. I think the album has a lot
of possibilities.

I also think people around here like Slipknot more than they let on.

I'd actually be sort of excited for a new album by them. Their last one didn't deserve the shit it got.

Don't listen to any of their material any more but these guys gave me my first taste of metal. I would be lying if I said I didn't think of them fondly, even if I don't even bother with this release.

So glad they are finally releasing new material. Everyone that is saying that its gonna suck without Joey need to GTFO. There are so many other members that can bring something to the table for the new record and a new drummer would be a welcome addition to change up their sound for the better.

TheSpirit I agree hard with what you said about Mick and Jim btw. The two are underrated as fuck. No doubt they will bring the riffs again.

I'm skeptical like everyone else obviously, but I'm still happy they're back after all this time.

Vol. 3 was actually really good, hopefully this sounds more like that album. All Hope just had too many SS sounding songs on it. They weren't bad at all, but it seemed like they were trying to appeal to the SS fanbase.

This seems like old school slipknot. Excited, kinda, even if I loathed All Hope. Self-titled is still pretty cool and Vol. 3 has some awesome tracks.

I read an interview with corey recently where he said that the new album is sort of a mix between Iowa and Vol 3. So that has me pretty stoked

Iowa with melancholic segments sounds like it would be an emotional rollercoaster.
