Not their best single but at least it sounds inspired. I should just go ahead and 3.5 this album in advance.

terrible band

Hardly terrible, just hit or miss. Some really awesome tracks here and there.

The echoing croak of "kingship" is hilarious for some reason.

The rest of the album's better, suffers from absent Anna vocals, she should really have more to do with the vocal hamonies

its not too bad. I always enjoy their acoustic non-metal interludes in their albums the most honestly. I haven't been huge on their metal since Inis Mona and Spirit. If they do plenty of those and make them flow with the album and not jarringly stick out like gimmicks as they did on ERAINW and Helvetios then I'll be into it. At the 2:40 mark when it takes off its at least fun to listen to.

I used to really like their first two albums back in the day and then they just became uninspired. This doesn't sound any better, though I dig the chorus

Agreed on the harmony part. Anna suits very well, would be a shame if she doesn't get her parts on the record.

they're just making the same simplistic pop metal song over and over again with barely discernible and likely stolen folk melodies buried in the mix somewhere, rendered redundant by everything else

the first two albums were okay when the gimmick was still somewhat fresh but why anyone cares about this band now is beyond me completely

It's easy to crank out 17 tracks of this level of quality - mediocre at best.
