Honestly, almost everything on A Sense of Purpose is better than this, and that's saying something. Though granted, the guitar work isn't bad.

I would say Sounds Of A Playground Fading is one of my favorite albums to listen to, but that also might be because I was probably dropped as a baby, and brains I lack.

this is passable, solos are pretty cool but the song is literally replaceable with anything off their last album. Sense of Purpose was their last good album.

Wizard, yeah good point in most cases, but I have listened to all of their albums to an extent just not fully from start to finish. It's not that I don't like them, I just like from Clayman on. That's all.

I happen to like most stuff they put out, each release is different as they move further towards a poppier metal sound. Guess they are still melodic metal eh?
Now its huge choruses and simpler riffs vs the older "melodeath" power chords with third harmonies.
I have a feeling this will be Playground pt 2 which will be a bit disappointing but oh well

I've liked/loved most of what these guys have done. Sense of Purpose was kinda he, but Playground was a HUGE improvement and actually inventive and exciting. This is pretty bad. It's like they forgot what a song is.

They weren't even that good at their old sound anyway. At the Gates were better.
Come clarity and Sense of Purpose were fantastic. The last album had some alright songs (Dead Ships, Enter Tragedy) but it wasn't their best. That will be Colony to me.
Hell I even liked their Nu Metal albums.

He's trying to justify his belief that the newer In Flames is better than the old. Even though Reroute to Remain is my favorite IF album, their older albums are better than the majority of the newer ones.

They both played that "Gothenburg sound" just with varying degrees of melody. If u want consistency then ATG were better but IF were open to changing shit up and I guess their fans just wanted a consistent run of albums from them which is what their older stuff offered. I wasn't the biggest fan of their older material, big deal.
