I Killed The Prom Queen Split

2007-04-08 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 13 Comments
Australian hardcore/metalcore band I Killed The Prom Queen have disbanded following the departure of guitarist Jona to Bleeding Through. The band released a statement yesterday confirming the split:

"We regret to announce that I Killed The Prom Queen will no longer continue as a band. The final nail in the coffin came when Jona was asked to join USA Metal group Bleeding Through as second guitarist. This, coupled with our inability to find a replacement vocalist, aided the decision to end the band.

"We would all like to sincerely thank all our friends and family and our label's Stomp, Metal Blade, Golf and Howling Bull records for their ongoing support of IKTPQ and most of all we would like to thank all the fans that made the last 7 years the most amazing years of our lives. We feel that we made a good impact on the Australian and world wide music scenes."

The members went on to issue individual statements, which can be seen at the band's myspace:

I didn't even know that Bleeding Through underwent a line up change. But yeah these guys just couldn't keep a vocalist and were meh.

This band are pretty crap tbh.

Quite a lot of people at my school think they are the best thing since sliced bread...fucking scene kids.

If only BMTH would split up now. That would be very nice...

I just checked them out because of the news. I don't think they are that bad, just generous. If there were not like... 30.000 other bands doing the same kind of music... I might say "what a pity"

I think IKTPQ had a surprisingly original sound for your average metalcore band. They were very talented and the metal world is losing a great band.

Jona was the only talented one in the group. Bleeding Through eh? I just can't listen to them because the name is terrible.
