I'm just pissed that people won't even give this album a fair chance. I mean, I kinda expected that, but damn, I was optimistic for a few seconds.

What do you consider to be "new ideas" though? He tried something new on his last EP and look how well that went - he even had other producers calling him out. I completely agree that Skrillex is the kind of artist who unwittingly inspires so much vitriol, but when it comes to pre-conceived notions it's kinda hard to not lay at least some of the blame at the artist himself

Not to mention his basic lack of production skills, his band-wagoning, his reliance on the exact same song structure for just about every song. And then when he attempts to mix it up he instead just ends up ripping off other artists

The first new track isn't that terrible, just predictable. It'll get club play here regardless of that though, it's got some things going for it that the locals still dig.

Album is actually quite different from the general idea of "brostep." It's actually worth the listen. I find it pretty fresh, perhaps the meatheads at his shows won't dig it..but fuck them right lol?

I could actually see his appeal with the whole brostep thing, but this debut lacks even that, so now
he's practically the same as every other shmuck. Like that reggaeton track, god almighty. Annoying or
lame, pick your Skrillex
