holy fuck this is pretty good.
way better than the last track they released
looking forward the new album now
| |
Yeah its darn cool!
Also, for people having a problem with link just add a : after 'http'
| |
Not enough CTAWBisms, agreed.
| |
Yay. =)
| |
band is shit lol butts
Naysayer
| |
Not bad but still expecting more I guess.
| |
Better than Naysayer.
| |
Naysayer was meh, but this is even worse
| |
The lyrics are bad, for sure.
| |
Rules
| |
This is just awful.
| |
Decent.
| |
Guitarwork is nonexistent. What happened to this band...
| |
The link brings you to a home improvement website-- good one OP or should I say Tim Allen. Found the song either way, Architects are pulling a huge Sempiternal.
| |
'Also, for people having a problem with link just add a : after 'http''
I posted this before, dude.
| |
Ah I didn't look through the comments first, thanks. Any idea why hyperlinks do that on this site?
| |
Just started listening to Ruin and I'm really starting to like it. Only song I know off Hollow Crown is Early Grave and that song is fucking awesome. Want to start checking out their newer stuff.
| |
"Ah I didn't look through the comments first, thanks. Any idea why hyperlinks do that on this site?"
something to do with coding I think
im pretty sure you can fix it by if when putting the link in you start it at www. because it adds the http for you
| |
@Imperv: the two albums between Hollow Crown and this album are really Alexisonfire-esque, if you're into that kinda stuff. Definitely finish listening to Hollow Crown though.
@Prime: I usually do that with sputlinks. It must be embedded deep in the coding and they can't fix that error, as well as the random 'r' being added every time you edit a list, maybe they've fixed that since the last time I've check.
| |
Meh
| |
I actually enjoyed this, sue me.
| |
I really enjoyed this aswell
pls don't sue me though I have shit to do
| |
i thought it was decent
| |
Lyrics are appalling, yes. But this sure is fucking catchy.
| |
Sounds nothing like sempiternal
Starts off promising but otherwise underwhelming I find
| |
Man, Architects really have a beef with God don't they? First Alpha, Omega and now this. Find the whole thing makes me cringe.
| |
Not nearly as much as Counterparts' beef.
Anyone wanna start taking bets on how many reviews this will bring about?
| |
ugh, way too many breakdowns
the "ambient" sections are good though
as long as they have a song like Feather of Lead and Unbeliever, I'd be happy
| |
Link isn't working....
| |
Sam Carter's singing has improved a lot, expecting this album to be great.
| |
It was alright.
| |
Fucking yawn. These guys are done
| |
Band is mad at God I'm guessing.
| |
"Djent" riffs with random fills in between open chugs, cheesy synth, cry baby vocals, lyrics upset about religion for no clear reason. Give it a ghey/10
| |
that riff at about the 2:30 mark was kinda cool, sounds like Daybreaker pt II to me
| |
This one is bad.
| |
I really dig this song, but Sam needs to step up his lyrical content. "Almighty fuck ups" is a pretty silly line. That ambient passage in the beginning and near the end really heightened the song, though.
| |
It just sounds like Daybreaker but with more open string chugging. I'm gonna be so disappointed by this.
| |
I've tried to listen to Hollow Crown so many times but it's like I don't want to. It just turns to backround noise which is why I gave Ruin a chance.
| |
terrible lyrics
| |
Not really a fan. I mean, it's decent, but...nothing really seems to stand out about it
| |
Not too bad, but way too breakdown centric, jeez it's reminding me of new Born Of Osiris
| |
Okay I'm a bit disappointed even though it's quite heavy, where's the riffs and experimentation they're capable of!
| |
Got lazy, this wears off with every listen.
| |
Band should be capable of writing long epic tracks by now, this is breaking no new ground. This is weak sauce compared to any Crydebris song
| |
There is absolutely no substance to this song. There isn't any guitar work, it's just ambient passages over the top of boring riffs with generic chugging alongside the most cringe inducing lyrics the band has ever produced. The technical song writing they tried to bring back on Daybreaker has been completely cast to the way side in place of obnoxiously heavy breakdowns. Just fuck this band, everything they have made after Ruin and the Dead Swans split has been completely reactionary.
"No one notices us so let's dumb the music down, that's not good enough let's become radio accessible yeah we hate heavy music now no more breakdowns, oh fuck we just pissed off our entire fan-base and the album flopped let's try to please fans of all our completely inconsistent albums at the exact same time, oh wait no one liked our half arsed attempt at an album lets make the most heaviest album ever and prove all the haters wrong"
| |
Pretty groovy song actually
| |
bloc
all of earth expected you to like this
| |
yep, Loveless nailed it
| |
What loveless said. ^
This is objectively a bad song period. I don't know what they are thinking but I'm really disappointed.
| |
it was aight but doesn't even touch their back catalog.
| |
Song is okay, video is pretty cool tho
| |
im feeling a little hollow crown vibe here.. but in saying that, it was still pretty average. some of the most boring riffs i've ever heard. the only half decent parts were his vocals and the ambient section. sigh this band..
| |
I actually dig the lyrics, but musicaly this is just meh...
| |
If I have to hear one more uninspired palm muted breakdown im going to take a hot glue gun to my fucking ear drums. I dont understand how bands still constantly to fall into this trap of killing every shred of energy within a song to play something that has already been beaten to death and fucked in every imaginable orifice for the past 14 years.
| |
Not too sure what people are listening to when they say there's no guitar work. There's guitar throughout this entire song, aside from the first 15 seconds.
| |
I wish atheists would quit writing about religion. If you don't like something, then don't write about it. This crap gets so annoying.
| |
"If you don't like something, then don't write about it."
lol
| |
logic at its finet
| |
yeah thats right i said finet
| |
well im finet with that malleus
| |
lol
| |
LOL Loveless went ham
| |
"I wish atheists would quit writing about religion. If you don't like something, then don't write about it. This crap gets so annoying."
Uh, I don't know about you, but this doesn't sound anything like a atheist. Atheist don't believe in God. This is clearly about someone of a faith angry that God doesn't give a shit about him.
Lyrics are still meh.
| |
This band got really boring, and they weren't even that exciting to begin with
| |
ehhhhhhhh i don't think it was bad
| |
EHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
| |
Sempiternal B-sides ? lol.
| |
Does Fractal Audio just have a contract with every single label now that forces every band to use their shit?
| |
lol Went ham? Wait what does that even mean? I've just been following this band for faaaaaaaaar too long and I'm sick of their shit.
| |
Actually I think this is pretty sweet. Riffs are techy but not annoying, synth/pad stuff is just haunting, and vocals are spot on. Personally not a fan of his message but lyrically he gets his point across clearly lol. I was a huge fan of Daybreaker though, and both of these songs feel like a step in the same direction of the heavy stuff from that album. Looking forward to this release for sure.
| |
Decent Architects, but boy am I getting sick of these lyrics
| |
Not to bad
| |
'lol Went ham? Wait what does that even mean? I've just been following this band for faaaaaaaaar too long and I'm sick of their shit.'
Haha it means you went hard as a motherfucker. I agree with you though, this band has a serious identity problem
| |
H.A.A.M.
Hard As A Motherfucker
Thanks Rap Community! =P
| |
Moar like "Fuck You Rap Community" amirite
| |
I dig it. I like the message of the song, but the lyrics could be better.
The band has always been mad at *religion* though.
| |
Well that was surprising. Reminds me of BMTH but sort of better.
Digging those "blehs"
| |
"If you don't like something, then don't write about it."
That has to be the dumbest thing I've ever read on this site.
| |
http://architectsofficial.tumblr.com/post/76328164207/discussion-about-the-meaning-of-broken-cross
Seems they've upset a few people.
| |
^ good write up from Tom there
| |
He says he's "a bit shit with words" but I think he's tellin pork pies.
| |
Yeah lol he writes fairly well
| |
I might have enjoyed this if not for the dumb juvenile lyrics whining about God and religion.
| |
lol
| |
yea, the lyrics do suck
| |
ARE WE PERFECT MISTAKES, OR ALMIGHTY FUCK-UPS?! ONE THINGS FOR SUUUURE, HE DOESN'T FUCKIN LOVE US!!!!!!!
best lyrics ever
| |
Maybe Tom should write the lyrics.
| |
Wtf this isnt new.
| |
...
| |
the fuck
| |
song still goes hard though
| |
I wish people would stop bumping old as shit threads like this. I only care if it's a new song in 2015
| |
I actually thought this was for a new song...
| |
