Those are some seriously terrible lyrics.
|
| |
They're not great, but I've never considered Volumes to have the best lyrics anyway. I enjoyed it for what it was.
|
| |
Saw these guys live once, was pretty hype, but not enough to interest me in their studio stuff
|
| |
Digging the hip-hop influence. I feel like they could have shaved off a minute and refocused the structure to make a better song. The syncopated rhythms get stale, too.
|
| |
apparently this song is a tribute to a friend that passed away from a car accident.
that being said, its a pretty good song, and i prefer this to most of their stuff from Via.
EDIT: but yeah, damn those lyrics are pretty shitty. "I would have picked you up" like lol...
|
| |
metalcore bands need to stop trying to incorporate hip hop influenced vocals its seriously bad
|
| |
The fact that it's a memorial song makes it worse for me really - like THOSE were the best lyrics you could come up with for your friend? Damn.
|
| |
Still better than Miley Cyrus.
|
| |
"The fact that it's a memorial song makes it worse for me really - like THOSE were the best lyrics you could come up with for your friend? Damn."
exactly my sentiments. they seem rather... uninspired?
|
| |
this was quite nice. they can pull off the melodic sound well. but they should definitely get rid of the mindless breakdowns they played in the middle of the song
I'm still waiting for Edge of the Earth II though
|
| |
This is rather good actually. The weeping guitar lead in the background of the chorus is top notch.
|
| |
it's seriously like they go out of their way to ruin the good parts of all their songs with the shittiest parts mixed in with them
|
| |
meh, too many cleanz and electronic elements ugh, heavy parts are good tho
|
| |
this scene needs to go ahead and die. too many brahs with snapbacks playing djent. song was so predictable
|
| |
Like they wanted to write another Intake. Lyrically and musically.
They didn't succeed.
|
| |
Really bad. As someone pointed out, those lyrics are an embarrassment as a memoir to someone who passed away. That looks like it took 5 mins to write.
|
| |
I actually really like this.
|
| |
Songs I can completely relate to usually get me pretty quick though.
|
| |
If you've never experienced the loss of a friend then I could see why someone wouldn't like it.
|
| |
They're not the best haha.
|
| |
It's all about "The Jig Is Up."

|
| |
do you know what he means when he says:
"I'm sorry it's my summer"
|
| |
At least the song has a good meaning.
|
| |
....Where's this strong hip hop influence I keep hearing about?
|
| |
this band is fucking terrible.
Song is terrible.
Lyrics are laughable. They might be meaningful, but seriously, it's like 14 year old myspace poetry.
|
| |
Yeah the lyrics are iffy, still like the instrumentals, and the vocals themselves aren't bad, so
|
| |
this more or less gives me hope for their next album if anything.
|
| |
Vocals rule.
|
| |
It's like the top 40 pop of djent. Pretty good for what it is.
|
| |
Holy fuck pit doesn't hate it.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN!?!?!?!
|
| |
hits me right in the feels. The dissonant breakdown stuff kinda ruins the hypnotic vibe though
|
| |
I thought that was great!
|
| |
"The fact that it's a memorial song makes it worse for me really - like THOSE were the best lyrics you could come up with for your friend? Damn."
my thoughts exactly, lol'd hard
|
| |
You guys are apparently way harsh on lyrics. Other than the "truck" line, I'm not sure why this is SO funny to you. I mean, like, "I would have picked you up", or whatever.... That's probably the phrase that keeps/kept going through his head when it happened, and I don't see what's wrong with writing something the way you speak/think.
It's not a masterpiece of poetry, but it's probably a very real, honest song. And I'm not even a fan, guys. I'll probably never listen to this again.

"Pre-production" but still overproduced...

Yeah, agreed.
|
| |
^ pretty much sums up my thoughts.
"Your lyrics about losing your friend in a car crash are terrible."
haha oh wow gj being a piece of shit there pal
|
| |
meh song...no standard volumes level.
|
| |
I know the song is really sad and serious but I laughed pretty hard at "YOU'RE THE REASON I CAME"
|
| |
Chorus is cool, the rest not so much.
|
| |
Can kind of understand the criticism for the lyrics but they have grown on me and don't seem weird any more. Awesome song, awesome band. So stoked for their new release.
|
| |
can't wait to see this band live again.
|
| |
when I listen to this song I think of "the motivation" by attack attack. The part where he says "I'M
NEVER GONNA GIVE UP HOPE!!!!!!" but really it just sounds way too close to "I'M NEVER GONNA GIVE A
POOOP." There's no excuse for this kind of shit.
lyrics may be genuine but they're still hilariously bad.
