Move over Dark Side of the Moon
| |
Move over last game-changing masterpiece by A7X
| |
Listening to it now, taking notes for a review later. A pretty cool first track. It's kind of like Nightmare but with more punch.
| |
We should beam this into space so aliens can also experience and share this masterpiece.
| |
Unbelievably underwhelming.
| |
I don't have an itunes account and I'd really like to know for sure that this is a 2 without blindly 2ing it
| |
"Listening to it now, taking notes for a review later. A pretty cool first track. It's kind of like Nightmare but with more punch."
are we listening to the same album. the first song was like shit was being poured down into my earhole. the awful cheesy synth in the background, the uninspired riff that sounds like a 15 year old who's just learning how to play made up. i mean. even the solo was awful. and matt sounds like shit. band should have quit after rev died tbh not that the s/t was any good
| |
This is the same band that made Waking the Fallen
| |
CUT MY LIFE INTO PIECES THIS IS MY LAST RESORT - A7X
| |
ok i quit
made it 4 songs in
i can't do it anymore
| |
So sad they never made another "Waking the Fallen" type album.... well i guess almost all bands end up changing their sound...
| |
To me it didn't... at least i consider that album to be better than most of their later work, but
anyways each one to his/her opinion
| |
The third track was good. Not sure about the fourth one... cool solo but its ripping off Sad But True is pretty shameless
| |
wow so good omg
| |
on itunes not gonna listen
| |
aotyoty
| |
OH GOD THAT CHOIR INTRO ON TRACK 5 I BURST OUT LAUGHING.
| |
So much wah pedal on this album. I bet Kirk Hammett masturbates to it.
So far I've only liked 2 of 5 tracks. What the blue fuck was that deep throated guy on track 5
| |
Mediocre. But what can you expect at this point?
| |
I can't tell if the positive comments are sarcastic or not...
Well, i'm sure i'll be able to tell once I listen to it
edit: I can't figure out how to get it to stream. Maybe that's a sign
| |
Sixth track is hilarious. It can't decide if it's a Nothing Else Matters ripoff or November Rain ripoff.
| |
Track 7, a watered down Hangar 18 ripoff. I can tell this album will kill their career.
| |
Well, they actually ripped off nearly every single metal artist on earth, but it's not a bad record, I think.
| |
I don't think Beethoven could even compose something this beautiful
| |
This will be a 2 or a 2,5. Half of the songs are boring as fuck and besides has a notorious lack of originality
| |
3 more tracks to go. Oh boy, this will be one fun review.
| |
i mean it's not offensively bad. just absolutely unremarkable.
| |
Not the worst thing ever, just a forgettable record
| |
My rating was started at a 3, then plummeted to a 1.5. But I'm thinking of giving it an extra .5 for the cool solos on track 8
| |
You know you're fucked when John Mayer makes a better album than you.
| |
Track 9, there goes that extra .5. What a shite ripoff of Fear of the Dark era Iron Maiden.
| |
Sometimes I listen to Waking the Fallen to remind myself that this band used to make good music.
| |
I may as well do that to clean my ears out. After hearing Planets, which makes some of the worst sampling of Gustav Holst's
The Planets I've ever heard.
| |
Ha...ha flutter. You could be the next Richard Pryor with jokes of that caliber.
| |
Track 10, what a BORING ballad and a laughable chorus. Don't get me started on the lyrics.
| |
2 tracks in, wondering why i even started
| |
Well, to the word pad. That was a bigger chore to listen to than Coheed and Cambria's past two albums.
| |
so how bad is it
| |
second half of this album is easily better than most of the stuff from the past two albums
| |
"through the ages of time i've been known for my hate" -M. Shadows.
Fuck this album. A7x were always cheesy but at least City of Evil and Waking the Fallen sounded like they were trying to be awesome. Even that horrible self-titled album had more effort and thought put into it than this.
| |
Will be playing COD and drinking mountain dew to this later.
| |
Wow, the hate...
Can't say this is out of the world stuff, and yes it rips off a ton of other metal bands, but I dont think its that bad.
| |
yea i dont care if they rip off maiden as long as its better than s/t and nightmare
| |
Waiting for the troll 1 ratings and the troll 5 ratings to balance out to what will likely be the appropriate 3 rating. These guys are consistently alright.
| |
Was expecting a lot worse after all of the hate this has gotten so far. This isn't that bad.
| |
"Will be playing COD and drinking mountain dew to this later."
Mountain Dew is actually awesome though
| |
"yea i dont care if they rip off maiden as long as its better than s/t and nightmare"
A7X has always ripped off of Iron Maiden. This is nothing new
| |
It's not something I'd go "Holy shit this is fucking bad, stop playing this" if I heard it somewhere around, but I can't say that I'll be listening to this by myself.
| |
Hearing the second half, is better than the first part. Not the worst album of this year. Just an average record, will be a 2,5-3.
| |
"Was expecting a lot worse after all of the hate this has gotten so far. This isn't that bad."
yeah a7x is the cool band to hate, so no matter how good or bad the album is it will always get a poor rating from some people who try to be cool. anyway i havent heard this yet, but is the rest of the album at least more interesting than the title track?
| |
But seriously, how on earth do I stream this?
| |
I've always enjoyed their instrumentals but the vocalist... fuck. So awful.
| |
"is the rest of the album at least more interesting than the title track?"
much
| |
Hail To The King is by far the worst song on the album.
| |
As much I hate the title track the guitar is still badass
| |
so basically good road trip music and not much else
| |
it just really boring, not offensively bad but there's nothing interesting in the entire album. and the ballads suck
| |
Haha the 4th track sounds so much like Metallica its a joke
| |
Only song I ever really liked from this band was I won't see you tonight part 1 or w/e its called
| |
only song I ever liked from this band was none
| |
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WqpUoJAQbfM
that song is good and dat piano.
that's it tho.
| |
@leviathan- mentioned that in my review haha
| |
The 3rd track (Doing Time) sounds exactly like Rev Theory's "Hell Yeah".
The album is nothing special, would say its around 3/5
| |
not bad for a Metallica cover band
| |
Totally thought the same thing when I listened to Doing Time
| |
i've given up all hope
| |
Pretty annoyed by all these comments. They're trying to sound like Metallica and Iron Maiden. Every piece of music is inspired by others. Pretty dumb to hate an album because a band wants to sound like Metallica. Honestly, this is maybe my favorite album that attempts to recapture an old school metal feel. Cheesy and poorly executed at times for sure, but overall, I largely respect the approach of this album. Half the time its bland as hell, but there are some great tracks on here.
| |
Arin drums at my church from time to time and it's way heavier and intense than anything on this album... Seriously, his talent is totally wasted in this band.
| |
Have any of you guys looked at the posts on their facebook page about the album? I think this band has the most retarded fans ever.
| |
I just love how the words gay and retarded are thrown around. They seem to be abused beyond belief here.
| |
I just love how the words gay and retarded are thrown around. They seem to be abused beyond belief here.
I don't think I saw a single smart comment on the entire post. Perhaps dumbest would be a better term?
| |
I guess. That probably won't change the site anyways. At least some people catch on before it's too late.
| |
I listened to four songs so far. Stylistically, it seems like City of Evil without the metalcore
influence and with much simpler drum work. It isn't awful, but as soon as a song ends, I immediately
forget what it sounded like.
| |
So, it sounds like Dementia. Just another nightmare waiting to happen.
| |
"We should beam this into space so aliens can also experience and share this masterpiece."
"I can't tell if the positive comments are sarcastic or not..."
Really???
| |
My overall thought on it is that it's a step in a different direction. They decided to try something different, and I have to give them credit. Requiem and Planets are easily the best songs on the album.
| |
'I just love how the words gay and retarded are thrown around. They seem to be abused beyond belief here.'
You forget the average Sput age is 14 and the only reason people want to listen to this is to look all smug to their A7X fan - friends at school
| |
k
| |
Coming home is a decent Iron Maiden copy...the rest is just terribly utter shit...
| |
lolz ramy
i fart in this band's general direction, their mothers were hamsters and their fathers smelt of elderberries
| |
ugh this thread
| |
Some decent stuff on here. Nothing that sets the world on fire but better then I expected.
| |
cant deny that the chorus of planets is fucking awesome
| |
I thought all their albums up to this were "okay" and undeserving of most of the hate they got. Shit, I even liked the self-titled.
But this whole thing was just a notch below everything else they've done. Even if the second half of the album is better than the first it's not saying much
| |
Granted I listened to this thing out of a dead sleep, but I couldn't help but be unimpressed on my first play through. I understand they wanted a more stripped down, bare bones, classic metal album which they did deliver on, but unfortunately no matter how well you do that you can't match other work you've done that's so much more technical and complex.
| |
This albums a complete snoozefest, had more fun listening to Wretched and Divine, thats saying something! I mean their self-titled wasn't good either, but at least it was a somewhat enjoyable listen. Waking The Fallen/City Of Evil were awesome albums, they had something going for them, but this is just a disgraceful parody to metal. sigh...
| |
Ok this is pretty cheesy. Its like musical schlock, but still a bit fun, somehow
| |
I really want to listen to this, I need a good laugh
| |
This sounds like they were listening to a TON of 90's Metallica and Megadeth. Was never a huge fan of the band, but this is really bland. Take the worst of Re-load and Risk and you have this album.
| |
Eh, 3/5
| |
I really like how these guys switch up their album artwork though
| |
it'll make them richer because it appeals so much to the audience they're going for ahahah
it's not that bad it's just not good
| |
3.3/5
| |
Coming Home is stolen directly from a Maiden b-side pile, I think.. Guys this is laughable, if you want to listen to 90's metal listen to good 90's metal for **** sake.
| |
lol this is terrible
| |
how the fuck do i stream this
| |
OWTEE
or
AY OH TEEWHY
| |
Fucking A man
no really
| |
Considering i enjoy excess cheese from time to time, I might really enjoy this. This is no Anathema or Dream Theater record, but i don't always have the patience for that. Total guilty pleasure album for me.
| |
Also, people take this shit too seriously. Like my cousin from Denmark said to me, Americans should just shut up about what they don't like, and just enjoy what they do like.
| |
It's not bad, but they're definitely better when they're not going for a stripped down sound.
| |
Okay, I lied, this isn't very good. What a bummer. Coming Home was awesome though!
| |
No motivation to click the link =D
| |
this means war sounds exactly like sad but true.......
| |
Every album they get further and further from the glory days of "City of Evil" and "Waking the Fallen"
| |
This band hasn't done anything worth a damn since Waking the Fallen.
City of Evil sucked, btw.
| |
