This song was so bad I almost reconsidered posting the news article, but then I figured the good people of Sputnikmusic need to know what this band has become.

Dafuq happened to his screams? they were great before.

The lead singer decided to stop "misleading the fans" by having his screams produced by Joey Sturgis.
Basically he is admitting he has always sucked at screaming.

Eh it was alright. Screams are definitely worse than the last album, but he's still one of the best clean vocalists in the genre.

Oh man that was bad.... and the vocalist really sounds like shit. He can still sing but holy fuck his screams are so weak and broken down sounding, and not in the way that makes them sound emotional or anything good, it just sounds like his voice can't handle what he's trying to do.

How does morale have a color?

He said he was going for a more natural vocal sound aka not over-produced because his lows he could not hit on tour and were putting strain on his singing voice... Saw them live last year he was great live and such a good guy. Now that I think about it he gave the mic to the crowd during key breakdowns in songs like Demon Teeth where he couldn't scream i guess

I like this more than the other song they released, but I guess that isn't saying a whole lot...

Maybe they should just drop the harsh vocals altogether, his cleans are really good.

He sounds uncomfortable with his harsh vox on these new tracks, and his cleans are so much better. Maybe he just needs some time to get this new new vocal style going.

looks like rise records finally took a hold of them. They went from a seemingly boundless potential in the genre to the generic over-vox'd and poppy metalcore you see everywhere around you. Product of the niche of the industry. gross.

to answer the one guy... i think color morale would indicate possibly our lack of morality due to
money(being green). Things like that make the name a applicable metaphor.

Disappointing considering how good we all have demons was. They should really ditch the heavier sections or get a 2nd vocalist. A couple dudes from my area released a song with this guy on cleans which reminds me of their older stuff.

If Sturgis didnt produce the vocals, he definitely produced the rest of it because its a silly jun factory/ electronic interlude/ pop chorus rise formula.

Vocals sound like a shitty version of Stray From The Path

It sucks because their guitarist has really really good skramz but he only does them a few times per show. Agreed it sounds like a much much shittier stray from the path.

It's not like this guys harsh vox were that special in the first place. Probably wouldn't be too difficult to get another guy who could do them the same if not better.

But his cleans are this bands only saving grace at this point.

They need to hire a separate vocalist. Garret can't scream and it's only hurting his cleans when he tries. They would sound much better. Gosh, I thought this was okay and then I listened to Walkers and cried at how bad it was in comparison.

Drumming is pretty bad too. Like it's all generic. And The Dying Hymn and Walkers are their peak. They need to match that!
